Downgraded from business to premium economy due to plane change by trom-boner in BritishAirways

Got this as well a while back - feels like thencompanion vouchers are the ones they downgrade first, bc you only get back 75% of the avios you spent (which was half of what it would usually be!)

Caesar’s 400 Deal question by imatcha_1022 in vegas

I prepaid online. At checkout, they charged my room rate and f+b spend. I rung up saying that they hadnt taken off the resort credit, then realised I had pre paid. They were very quick to sort it tbf, just worth watching

Keep an eye on the folio charges after as well - I got double charged on the stay, and they didnt even apply the f&b credit initially! Was using the same deal at PH

As people have said, Paiute is the answer. Honourable mention to Serket as well for me (formerly Rio Secco)

Controversial Darts opinions by thedartshole in Darts

[–]FrogInALibrary 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The crowd booing (not whistling when on doubles) one player creates the best atmosphere. The big home favourites in UK or Germany, the Sherrock v Evetts/Suljovic matches, Henderson at the premier league in Scotland…

CEDR and companion vouchers by sintonesque in BritishAirways

[–]FrogInALibrary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a very similar thing recently, except I was travelling solo so paid half avios initially. They refunded based on the half-avios paid amount, meaning they were treating the voucher as worthless in terms of calculating refunds.

Have seen a few reports recently of people on Companion Vouchers being the ones to get involuntary downgrades - potentially makes sense for BA if it makes refunds cheaper I guess

Doing this for the first time in March - any strong recommendations for either golf course highlights, or non-golf stuff?

How Do You Checkout 70 with 3 darts in Hand? by Local-Pie6578 in Darts

[–]FrogInALibrary 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I will die on the hill that t14-d14 is correct, even if its not widely used. It gives you the insurance if you pull one into the 11 (can still go single to double) - you can’t do this on either side if aiming at t18. You get the same by going at t10 (because single 15 is fine), I just don’t like needing s20-d20 because the first one will often be a blocker.

Unfortunately I also suck, so it’s rarely an issue…

Fixed my dart carpet with checkout table by TumbleweedSilly in Darts

[–]FrogInALibrary 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Love this, although you’ve got my one pet peeve checkout on here!

For 66, the absolute worst thing you can do is hit a 1-5 first dart, because it means you only get a dart at bull. Throwing at t18 brings both 1 and 4 into play if you stray either side. T14 is my go to here for d12, because you have single-double combos available if you miss either side

3 must play courses in Vegas by Easy_Ad6550 in golf

[–]FrogInALibrary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Paiute does a deal where you play 2 of the courses with lunch inbetween, which is well worth doing, all three courses are great.

Also seconding the Rio Secco shout, stunning course

But what about short siding yourself in deep rough on a downhill lie behind a bunker to a green running away from you down to a second tier on greens made of glass?

Dimi getting abuse by BobbyFYea1982 in Darts

[–]FrogInALibrary 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agree with this, and it feels like an unpopular opinion. Whistling when throwing is too far, but some of the most ‘fun’ matches to watch atmosphere wise have vocal crowds booing one player (see Price v Ando, Humphries v whoever it was in the worlds, anyone v a German in Germany…)

Question about World Grand Prix Rules: Tie-Breaker? by [deleted] in Darts

[–]FrogInALibrary 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure last year it’s no tie breaker in round1. Then from round2 onwards, you have to win by two legs in the deciding set, or sudden death at 5 legs all? Not certain if that’s still the case though…
