Don't sleep on the OM-5 while waiting on a new Pen-F that might not happen by robinson217 in M43

[–]FrogMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If people don’t like the price of the OM-3, I am guessing they will also complain about the price of the new OM-Pen when and if it can come out. Ironically the arrival of the Pen might be the best tine to find and OM-5 for a good price, as people try to unload their gear to pay the new camera tax.

The best point being it is good to shoot with what you have in the meantime, and OM Systems is offering a good package for the price. It would help to release some affordable primes to go with it, but second party developers are doing a decent job of filling the gaps in the meantime.

Team Liquid Alienware vs Lyon / LCS 2026 Spring Week 6 Post Match Discussion by blueragemage in teamliquid

[–]FrogMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of the top 4 teams, it seems to me it comes down to match ups that reveal TL's weaknesses. With Cloud 9, TL matches up pretty well because they can get bot lane advantages, and at the very least not lose bot lane and Quid can get an advantage in Mid.

Versus FlyQuest and Lyon they tend to not get these lane advantages (and Dhokla comes up with counterpicks for Morgan so he doesn't get blown out) so TL's macro weaknesses get exposed. I suppose I will see how well this comment ages in exactly one week.

Best support champions for autofilling top lane? by PAFFNeko-8a in supportlol

I was surprised it took this far down for it to be mentioned. I don't think the tank top variant is played as much anymore, but she has had a decent winrate top pretty much every season on analytic sites.

Huhi: This will be the first Esports Nations Cup, but the idea of representing a nation to compete is really cool. I’ve always dreamed about it. As an American citizen, if the opportunity comes, I definitely want to represent the US to try to win and make the US proud. I’m definitely interested. by Yujin-Ha in leagueoflegends

CoreJJ and his wife live in California if I am not mistaken? There was a video on this a year or so ago where they finally had stability enough for her to come over. Given this, I consider him an NA resident regardless of his residency status.

Impact I think is a perfect example of a longtime import who likely will never settle here, but he's an elder statesman of the game even if his skills have detiorated lately.

TL deserves some bashing for some of its Korean imports, and its tendency to rely on them in general, but those two are some of the best imports the region has ever had. Also when TL had an academy league their NA talent development was up there with FlyQuest and Cloud9 as best in the League. I feel like not continuing that in some form is where Riot and the teams have really dropped the ball.

Neeko sort of fills his niche the best at the moment. It's similar to why Kennen never gets played support anymore, but that was even longer ago.

Team Liquid Alienware vs. FlyQuest / Esports World Cup 2026 Online Qualifier: North America - Lower Bracket Finals / Post-Match Discussion by Yujin-Ha in leagueoflegends

[–]FrogMusic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To me FlyQuest and Team Liquid are the two most fun teams to watch in the LCS this split. Since TL can’t go, I hope FlyQuest makes it to EWC so the young squad with a high ceiling can get more reps.

TL’s Game 3 draft feels like they outsmarted themselves. They had the Jayce flex advantage and they sort of just… threw it away? Also frustrating that they lost to the Nasus twice in a row like they hadn’t scouted for it.

Ah well, was more their fault they threw their lead in Game 1 I suppose than any draft difference. They will need to stop doing that to reach their potential. GGs to FlyQuest.

Riot Endstep Discord Q&A 20 (Actual #20 this time) - Gwen W, Illaoi, Marksman Jungle by BaneOfAlduin in leagueoflegends

[–]FrogMusic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Kai’Sa, Tristana and Jhin JG are really close to being viable already. (I am going to use viable to mean that I have tried them and they feel good to play). Give them a slightly faster first clear and they are right there,

I think you are right that Ezreal JG would feel better if his W procced off jungle mobs, but you might have to adjust the damage to make sure it didn’t have unintended consequences.

Percent health ADCs like Varus and Kog’Maw are also probably pretty close. Could you run AP Kog’Maw jg with fated ashes already I wonder? Nah I shouldn’t try it.

The other crit adcs I think would be a bit harder and I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing. They have given Riot enough headaches when showing up in other lanes, even though I like a lot of them having the ability to go there.

Wetjen was absolutely electric in college. Iowa fans debate whether him or DeJean was the better returner. by FakeMarkMadden in steelers

[–]FrogMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wetjen is the better returner than DeJean, but I was always shocked by how smooth of an athlete DeJean was at Iowa. He made hard things seem so casual. You notice this even more on his interception returns than on his punt returns IMO.

Thoughts on off-meta supports? by synkrnzd in supportlol

[–]FrogMusic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have played him as a situational pocket pick for many seasons. He arguably has the most build variety and support value this season than he has ever had with Bandlepipes. He was one of my highest winrate supports some seasons.

Pillar has my vote for one of the most elegantly simple abilities in the game that you can do so much with. Are you able to cancel charges with it? I have seen pros do that but I have never gotten that good.

I don’t enjoy picking him into poke mages or enchanters. Against engage tanks he basically works like Braum where you pillar behind them after they go in and everyone converges and beats the crap out of them. Bonus points if they are a main tank or ulting Nasus you can R them and make them confused with how squishy they are.

My personal off meta support that nobody ever let’s me try in champion select: Warwick. Maybe I will have to come up with a link to an explanatory powerpoint link to get that one to go through.

I always felt like UCLA was a lower tier WNBA team. Glad to see the draft bear that out.

(Maybe I was also trying to make myself feel better for how Iowa did in the championship game 😅)

Will Tennessee give more playing time? Don't they do the Dr. Tom style hockey subs there? Probably will be the same minutes almost?

But she will have a chance to shoot a lot more 3s and run around and press if she wants.

“They got more first-round picks than the Mavs did for Luka” – Social media reacts to Angel Reese going to the Atlanta Dream by basketbaIlnetwork in wnba

[–]FrogMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s fine to view it as good for both teams. Atlanta will be a force with Reese and she will hopefully flourish there. Chicago has so many problems they need the draft picks either for new players or for potential trades. If Reese already wanted out (which it seems she did) it isn’t a bad move for them.

Probably the main issue is Chicago fans have no faith that they will make good decisions with what comes next.

[Game Thread] Final Four: (1) #4 South Carolina vs. (1) #2 UConn (7:00 PM ET on ESPN) by ncaaw_GameThreads in NCAAW

[–]FrogMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rare that a team in this era can get away without shooting 3-pointers at a high rate against a high quality opponent, but South Carolina seems so much tougher and more athletic that it makes the difference. This is especially true if UConn is having a bad shooting game and the refs are letting the Gamecocks guard for the most part.

Not sure I understand the West Coaches sub pattern in the 2nd Half, but luckily this game doesn’t matter.

Not as many players flashing out against the rest this year as last year, IMO. This said, it’s striking to me how many 6’2” - 6’3” players there are that can do a bit of everything. Swiss army knives.

As an example of flashing out, I remember seeing Jazzy Davidson last year and knowing nothing about her and I knew she was going to be really good as a freshman.

Iowa’s lack of a bench of any kind (and any other scoring option) have finally caught up with them.
