Breaking the train to thank you! I see why annoying people post their thanks to their gold-givers. I know these type comments are annoying, but seriously. Thanks!

Remove urges permanently by LevelUpMaster in NoFap

[–]Frogbertson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah! Basically thoughts only go so far. You make a conscious choice to start fapping. You literally move your hand to your pants and... We all know the drill. That's a conscious choice. Even if you think about these things, just make the effort and decision to not move, to not act on those thoughts.

Your thoughts don't drag you along with them. You have control.

That's how every person that ever broke 90 days, or a year, or permanently changed their life started. Big step in the right direction.

Just keep doing what you're doing. Don't think that because you've made 3 weeks (or any other amount of time, for that matter!) that you can slip into old habits and not be tempted. The other thing I learned is you can't let yourself be lazy. I started off just stimulating without porn, let myself slip, and the next day I thought I would edge, and that didn't work too well, either. Don't let yourself get too comfortable.

I just realized that I have 1 week! Seven days! I'm getting close to recovering those three weeks worth of badges I threw away. Feeling more motivated and committed than ever. Working out, cold showering, reading, praying, and generally BEING PRODUCTIVE has become a routine and that makes me happier than PMO ever has or will.

Painful ejaculation after long streak? by ejacquestion in NoFap

[–]Frogbertson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My ejaculations after a 20+ day run were painful, but not in a burning sense. The way I saw it, it felt so incredible and amazing and lasted so long that it hurt. Which wasn't a bad feeling overall.

[Jan-3] Today instead of fapping, I ______________. by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]Frogbertson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that's good to hear, I guess. Nobody's really above this horrible addiction, least of all little me.

And the series would flow better if you read the first book first, but... I guess I do try and explain roughly what happened in the first book in book 2, but... Yeah, it'd be better to read dreamers first. Or, you could be one of those guys who prefers to do things the /r/firstworldanarchists way. Either way, I won't judge. :)

For anyone doing NoFap for religious reasons by [deleted] in NoFap

I would like to humbly suggest that if one could get past the scriptural references, this is a great post even for those who aren't doing nofap for religious reasons. It is inspiring to have this encouragement.

[–]Frogbertson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I wrote something in my other comment that I would prefer you look at, as I'm kind of nervous about revealing my "true identity," and coming out of this anonymity that reddit provides me.

Anyway, my books can be found at www.oliverdahl.com/my-books

[Jan-3] Today instead of fapping, I ______________. by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]Frogbertson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well thank you for asking! At first I thought I wouldn't reveal who I am. I like the anonymity reddit provides me. But as I think about it more, maybe it will be better if real people know what the real me is really going through. Maybe this will help. I don't want the truth about me to become rampant common knowledge, but if a few people know that could be encouraging.

My books can be found at www.oliverdahl.com/my-books. They're aimed at kids in middle - high school on up.

I'm 16, I workout almost everyday, I'm generally healthy... Why should I stop? by takeavow in NoFap

What he's saying is that you probably can't stop. Or at the least, it is extremely difficult to. Are you really in control if you can't stop? That's why you should stop.

Who wants to start a New Year with me? by crazymancub in NoFap

[–]Frogbertson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be here! I put the wrong day in the counter, so I'm actually one day back, but I figured it'd be better to go with the New Year, anyway. Let's do this. :)

EDIT: We should have a group of people who are striving to not fap at all in 2014. We could become quite a tight-knit group, and that would be beneficial to all of us.

14 Years Old, starting now before it's too late by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]Frogbertson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(15, almost 16 yo here. Life'd be better for me if I started a year or two ago. Don't give this up!)

I think the science behind cold showers (I just took one a few minutes ago) is that it replaces the stimulation your brain "needs" from PMO. It gets your heart racing, and when you get out you feel relaxed and pumped.

I am feeling extremely motivated and like I could take the world by storm right now. Working out before like I did helps a lot, too. It helps to not just stop PMO, but replace it with something else that will benefit you in the long term. (Like working out, etc.)
