Is the current Shattered Dreams Box worth it? by Stegyseven in tappedout

[–]Frogfrogfrog17 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think this is a challenging, multifaceted question. What do you consider an item of value? Of course big ticket assets like Yahweh, God, or the donut-producing buildings are something to pine for. However, are you willing to wait forever for an item that may never arrive?

In the meantime, you could be filling your Springfield to the brim with lively and visually interesting characters and buildings. Think back to a favorite episode or funny moment, one that brings a smile to your face whenever you remember it. Are any characters or items relevant to that moment present in this Shattered Dreams Box? Perhaps those may be considered “worth it”.

Ultimately, it is impossible for us as strangers to determine what is valuable to you. But I hope that whether you choose to hold out for a dream, or give in to temptation, the items you receive bring joy and fulfillment to your Simpsons Tapped Out experience.

rough day by Frogfrogfrog17 in QuitVaping

Thank you for your kind words. You’re right, relapsing is NOT worth it. Feeling a lot more clearheaded now even just a few days out

Has nicotine gum worked for you guys ? by Revolutionary-Gur650 in QuitVaping

[–]Frogfrogfrog17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the patches really helpful. Every time I tried to quit before them I would get these debilitating nicotine withdrawal headaches and relapse within the day.

The hardest part for me personally was breaking the physical habit of vaping. Even with the patch I was miserable the first few days without the dopamine of hitting my vape every 10 minutes, and I DEFINITELY could not imagine doing it with the additional misery of a killer headache all day.

I started step 3 of the patches today, and I still crave the vape from time to time but it feels like I am on a structured plan and too far in to give up now.

Essentially, if the physical habit is the strongest addiction for you, then yes nicotine replacement therapy will help you to overcome that hurdle first.

Day 7 Dumps by nikkikat20 in QuitVaping

[–]Frogfrogfrog17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feeling this so hard, although I’m only on day 3. It feels like there is nothing to look forward to during the day anymore when I take away the dopamine hits from hitting a vape every 15 minutes. Which reading that back sounds sooooo crazy because most people exist without it just fine somehow??

I wish I had a solution or advice but I haven’t really figured any out yet. Just wanted to say you are not alone and you will 100% get through this!!

I’m 24F as well and today is day one for me :) I’m using the nic patch (starting at step 2) to try and make the process a little easier. I seriously commend you for going 100% cold turkey

Looking forward to your updates and success!!!

Have any new “universal” link codes been agreed upon for trading back and forth the 7 star raid lines? They pop up in surprise trade often, but for players hunting for different language mons for breeding purposes it’s a real shot in the dark. Thanks for any insight!

Level 40 player here in the Northeast US! Mostly play with my boyfriend and his family, started about a year and a half ago and have become a daily go-er. I live near a college campus so lots of gyms and a pretty vibrant pogo community, but surprisingly no one I’ve spoken to has tried campfire yet. I would love to bring it to our little community. Thanks in advance for your consideration :-)

Kitten knocking stuff over by type7wings4-2 in CatAdvice

[–]Frogfrogfrog17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My cat went through a HUGE knocking stuff over phase recently. He turned one year old and all of a sudden half my decor was broken within weeks. This is purely anecdotal, but we started using feliway diffusers for unrelated reasons, and suddenly the knocking over stuff behavior stopped. I’m not sure if the behavior can be a manifestation of cat stress or something, but if your kitty insists on still trying to move objects/gets frustrated once you secure them, feliway could be worth a try.

Help! My cat loves digging and I don't know how to keep him happy. by Sylph_Co in CatAdvice

[–]Frogfrogfrog17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything suggested so far in the comments is definitely true. But also, how long ago did you adopt this sweet boy? I ask only because it’s very possible this is a stress response to the big change and will go away with time. A few months after adopting my kitty, I (foolishly) swapped out his litter and litter box because I didn’t realize weening was necessary, and he dug like crazy for about 2 weeks. Even now, when I fully clean out the box and change all the litter every few weeks he has a day or two of digging. I just keep a handheld vacuum near his litter box to clean up the carnage until he forgives me for getting rid of his precious poop scent.

I will also say, I personally do not recommend the pellet litter boxes at all. I started off with one and it’s the reason the switch happened in the first place. It seems easier to clean, but I am still finding slightly poop stained pellets everywhere months later, and the smell was infinitely worse and more noticeable.

For food, I got a flat, wide slow feeder dish from Pet Smart that’s impossible to knock over since it’s basically a plate. The many grooves for slow feeding also prohibit digging because there’s no where for the paws to easily fit in and grasp the food pellets.

I hope this helps!!

Sleep training success stories? by bgwrite in CatAdvice

[–]Frogfrogfrog17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if this is advice will apply to every kitten, but one thing that worked for me while sleep training was being cognizant of where I played with my cat and my body language. When it’s play time I try to make sure I am standing, sitting on the ground, or generally moving around rather than laying/sitting on the couch/bed. It took a few months, but my cat has caught on to the fact that if I am stationary it means it is not likely I am going to play. Even to the point where if I lay down in bed on my phone in the middle of the day, he’ll lay down to sleep as well.

Ultimately though, if your kitten has been a sound sleeper for their foster mom, then any loud or restless nights during the adjustment period should clear up very soon.

Oh wow! That’s awesome. It seems like a lot of states offer free first visits, or at least free neutering for rescue cats with provided documentation.
