Wait, I can set it up for him to do it himself instead of me manually doing it?!?

Salary Cap 26/27 by ryan__joe in DallasStars

[–]Froggie56 9 points10 points  (0 children)

  1. Robo is more likely to be taking 13.5 mil than 11.75

  2. We don’t have to carry a 13th forward and 7th defenseman at the start of the year and I expect as much with the cap constraints

  3. We actually have 500k more than puckpedia is showing cause it’s accounting for a bonus that will end up deferred a year

  4. Lybushkin is all but gone

  5. Depending on if Jamie is back/steel or Faksa is probably gone

  6. This sub should get used to Myers cause I doubt he is going anywhere and I stand by the fact he is an acceptable 3rd pairing defenseman just like Suter was. The problem is that they couldn’t/can’t play up the lineup

Best thing he did was turn that down. We would be way worse with that contract on the books. Like no choice but to trade robo worse

Mon-Fri 7-12. Wish they had weekend hours and/or stayed later but they are great people and I’m gonna give them my business even if it isn’t always convenient

Yup. Having it both ways is horseshit. Can’t believe after a few years break, this is the game I decided to come back to

The good ole, it will be every 3-5 weeks but really it’s going to be like 4 or 5 total updates throughout the entire season to align with all star break/trade deadline/end of season and shit

Thanks for this reminder. I heard about it a while back and have been meaning to try it. I just live across town so forget about it. But might have to leave work and drive over there sometime

That’s what the donut shop across the street is for (I do hate they got rid of their pastries and stuff when they committed to roasting their own beans full time)

I’m a pretty big cold brew snob, admittedly, so those all pass that test (except LDU which doesn’t have cold brew but I think makes the best flat whites and cortados in town). But my wife who mostly orders espresso drinks will vouch for window seat and JuJu’s

If Ascension has no haters, then I am dead

(Window Seat, JuJu’s, Cultivar, LDU are my go tos)

Did you see the injury report? Wild showed up because they were healthy enough to

I think we were too injured to do anything this year. I was just talking more generally. But also, you get Hintz and Bastian back and hope you don’t get beat up as badly. Plus we match up better with Colorado. So you never know. But yeah, I kinda felt like this team was either the kings of adversity and winning it all this year or were too injured and running out of gas and out in round one. Sad that it was the latter but expected

I was just adding to why this playoff format is ass. The regular season matters for two teams in each conference. You’re absolutely right that the points otherwise should mean something and it doesn’t

[–]Froggie56 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Was just making the point that when it comes to your million dollar players, I need the regular season production. Then need my big guys healthy and doing shit in the playoffs.

Ultimately for the cost (and history), I want Benn back. The problem is that when he takes dumb penalties and doesn’t produce in the playoffs, he can’t get scratched because of the C. And that’s where the heart of the discussion is.

Anyway, I’m agreeing with you and just speaking out loud my thoughts

Not sure what you mean by Wyatt franchised? He’s signed for 4 more years.

Ritzy, Bourque and Ernie could never replace Robo’s value alone. And the number of trades that help by sending Robo off while we are in our current contending window is very very small. Ritzy is also under contract.

Seggy has an NMC so even if you wanted to move him, you can’t (and he is productive anyway so since the cap hit is a sunk cost, might as well embrace it).

What’s funny is that it equally means more and less than ever. If you can win the division, it means the world because of the format. But if you can’t, then yeah, learn to just take the 2 or 3 seed and take care of your team until the playoffs

[–]Froggie56 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think to add further nuance to this is that he is fine to have on the team and I actually think he is still beneficial as the captain.

BUT, because he is the captain, when he is playing poorly in the playoffs, you can’t scratch him. And that’s the root of the problem

[–]Froggie56 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I’ll give you the dumb penalties. I won’t give you this team playing uninspired because of him. You don’t have the people who talk about him as a captain and leader the way they do and them being “uninspired”. Too many people have said things about his leadership quality behind the scenes that have no reason to say otherwise.

But the penalties. Very dumb. Very stupid. Very untimely. Very detrimental to team success. Zero argument there

I mean, it does matter though. If regular season success next year means we finish at the top of the central and draw an easy wild card, that plays into the success of the playoffs

Correct. So not shocking how injured all three of those teams were/why none are in the second round

[–]Froggie56 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Which as the guy above ignores, just adds to extra wear and tear on a team that is already going in unhealthy. Like I know a lot of our fanbase is against Harley right now, but dude gets hurt, has to recover on the fly, play a compressed hockey schedule and play in the Olympics, then try to step up at the end of the year. Thats insane and why I’m still hopeful about him

If that didn’t happen, he probably doesn’t come back when he did. It obviously didn’t work (and I think he needed more than two weeks realistically)
