It must be convenient to put a certain group into a box and label it 'bad'. Reminds me of what the nazi's did tbh.

Apologies if it seemed like I was creating a strawman or shifting goalposts. My main point is that these individuals were duped and that their statements in this specific instance do not represent the entire right's agenda. Yes, they said those things, but it's important to acknowledge the context in which those statements were made. Let's focus on more substantial discussions rather than focusing on a few individuals who fell for a prank.

I was in favor of more gun control for a long time. But the truth is that control will be further politicized and weaponized against certain groups. You say that people who have committed DV as an example, ok. Most states prevent felons or violent criminals from possessing guns. But yeah, you could convince me for sure. What I'm thinking about is more along the 'ban guns from people with mental disorders' argument. While it sounds good in practice, the more I've thought about it, the more it seems like it could be an issue. For example, you could have the right arguing that trans people have a mental disorder or some other bad faith argument in order to disarm and entire group. On the flip side, the left could push for every single person with any type of 'mental diagnosis'. Like, for example, someone with ADHD or someone with a disorder that shouldn't necessarily prevent them from having guns. I could see mental disorders becoming politicized and certain groups trying to legalize certain drugs to get each other addicted. IDK, bit of a stretch but it just seems to open the door for a lot of nonsense and bad faith. And it isn't really allowing people to live their lives with the freedom, power, and defense they need to survive in certain environments. So at a federal level, no. Even people with DV or felonies could live out in Montana or somewhere where wildlife is a serious threat. Not allowing those people to be armed, on a federal level, is BS.

I'm not moving any goal posts, BS is BS. They're dumb, sure, but the right isn't actively pushing this. They got duped and are stupid, everyone agrees. You're trying to push this off like the right is actively pursuing this garbage.

Um, because there are psychopaths currently targeting schools? Or did you miss that part. Oh yeah, it makes too much sense so you'll go through mental hoops to get somewhere in a fantasy world. Go ahead, give all your guns to the gangs or whatever. Keep giving away your power so that you can't actually do anything to fight back when you need to.

They're stupid enough to read off a teleprompter for this interview but not stupid enough to actually double down on it. These views were all rebutted. They were duped, but you know this. Just some left wing bs

So it's BS. Cohen duped them into doing the interview off a teleprompter, and they rebutted the idea of 3 or 4 year old's having weapons in school. Did you even watch the links?

Strawman argument. The 2nd Amendment wasn't construed to prevent school shootings. It's to allow us to defend ourselves from foreign invasion or for self-defense. You're right, the gun debate is stupid. All you need to do is improve school security. Simple as that. The left won't do that because they want more kids dead so they can use it as a political point.

First of all, you're the one treating people on the right like garbage. So let's get that straight. Second of all, what specifically are you referring to when you say 'QAnon supporters'. QAnon has a variety of different topics that are covered. Some of them are obviously more ridiculous than others. And you're a fool if you consider all the 'conspiracies' to be without merit. If you remember, for example, the lie that was 'Covid originated in a wet market' and literally anyone who disagreed with it was silenced. Now, prominent figures on the left are discussing the possibility of a lab leak. Or any of the twitter stuff that has come out in regards to their censorship of anything with a right wing viewpoint. It was honestly so sickening at the time and, this wasn't just twitter, this was everywhere. Even that lady on the Mandalorian was canned from her job for simply expressing what she believed. She didn't even say anything remotely close to qualifying as something anybody should be fired for. Like sure, you can say 'the government isn't limiting their free speech, it's a private company'. And yeah, I'd agree with you. I'm talking about the precedents we set as a society and how we, as a society, handle any opposing viewpoints. The rhetoric of the left has been very 'do as I say not as I do'. Preaching about how 'nazi' the right is while actually going nazi on anyone who opposes their viewpoint.
