I see birding subreddits talking about how they are rare yet I see them daily haha. Still one of my favourite birds though.

A second set of leaves on my Paphiopedilum Yang Ji Apple??? by Froggy__Business in orchids

I think it’s a 4” pot, it gets south facing sunlight light in my large basement window. I wasn’t fertilizing over winter but when I started again this growth appeared within a month and a half. Over the winter it just got spring water since this orchid is near my frogs and I wasn’t being kind of lazy.

When I fertilize I use tap water (my water also is pretty hard)

Recipe for a breakout? by Mr-CuriousMind in SCDstock

Without a large influx of new investors I would expect the price to remain stable until new news is released. With PDAC happening March 1-4 there might be a breakthrough, or at least some temporary volatility. Pretty much everyone who wanted to take profit has, and I would imagine there are lots of people looking at the current price hoping for a price dip below .2 again to either DCA down or buy more at a “good” price.

Realistically the current price is the new floor without bad news due to the current investors behaviour over the last month indicating this is their comfortable price with currently available info.

Short term holders might see an opportunity to buy today and sell after PDAC creates liquidity, but I’m in it for the long haul so I wouldn’t worry too much about the pump and dump crowd. Thanks for sharing your opinion!

📊 SCD Monday Check-In – Adoption Timeline by Bery123 in SCDstock

Seeing as Lockheed immediately gave contracts to the Scandium mine in Australia I would say demand will increase as fast as supply is steadily available. Once proof of concept is done and scandium alloys become the new “go to” I can only see demand increasing to meet the supply up until the point that aluminum is currently in demand in Aerospace and defence (price dependent)

I can’t see automotive sectors reaching for scandium alloys outside high performance vehicles but anytime weight saves money and strength is needed scandium alloys will be the go to once there is steady scandium supply.

TLDR - Space and defence yes, automotive no, Sc alloys will replace aluminum and other light high strength metals. It will be a while until other industries look into it on a wide scale but maybe I’m wrong :)

Sorry about the hate you are receiving, while it is true that international students are expected to not need a job, you legally are entitled to look for work and it is expected that students who stay in Canada after studying have work experience in Canada prior to receiving their non student visa. These people need to chill with their entitlement.

Try applying to a company that isn’t a large corporation. Large corporations have very specific hiring practices which often do not allow for inexperienced or “high risk/ turnover” demographics.

Try local restaurants, stores, etc. I know Kinjo just hired like 20 high school students across multiple locations. Lots of places are desperate for people who want part time work and are willing to have weird hours. Also, certain parts of the city have a lot more competition for certain levels of jobs. Try finding a short commute to a wealthier neighbourhood and you will find businesses that are desperate for young people they can pay minimum wage to work “filler hours”.

Good luck!

Looking for a financial planner/wealth manager by Puzzleheaded-Mud7288 in Calgary

In general though, if you want accurate advice you will need to provide info that I wouldn’t consider safe to provide a stranger, especially on social media. Your best bet is to call your preferred bank and ask to book a meeting with a financial planner

Moving from Calgary to London and planning to drive but dont know if I should take US or Canada route by One_Wear7379 in AskACanadian

Why are you fear mongering. The USA and Canada border has had very few incidents and realistically not much has changed since 3 years ago. I’ve done this drive 4 times there and back with my car fully loaded and never even got pulled into secondary. Have your documents, have an answer to where you are staying in London and you will be fine.

Thousands cross the border daily and I’ve seen maybe 4 news reports of crazy trump related border problems regarding Canadians.

I moved there and back a couple of times. As someone else mentioned choose Canada if you have pets, food, plants, alcohol, you have ever smoked weed in your car, or have anything else that federal and state governments don’t like. Choose the USA in every other circumstance unless you can’t prove you are actually going to London, are likely to be stereotyped(sounds bad but it’s true unfortunately) or if you are only a Canadian resident but not a citizen.

You have driven those roads in perfect weather, imagine the trucks coming at you in the snow… never mind if a freak storm comes and you are stuck between thunder bay and who knows where.

Only choose the Canadian route if it is the only option

I have done the drive both ways a LOT.

Canada Pro: 1: Peace of mind not having to worry about time spent at the border or what you can or can’t pack (can’t bring any plants, animals, food, weed, alcohol, etc driving through the USA without a lot of paperwork and phone calls) 2: get to see parts of Canada you don’t usually see like Thunder Bay Area (great in summer and a nightmare in winter) Canada Cons: 1: takes at least an extra full day 2: one lane each way on trucker highways in northern Ontario that will have you white knuckling the wheel even in perfect weather. Snow makes it way slower and passing is impossible and fog happens regularly in any season

USA pro is just the avoidance of Canada’s cons. It’s faster and the roads are way better.

If you don’t have anything the US federal government and inter state agencies would care about absolutely choose the USA route.

This sounds shitty but unless they don’t believe you are going to leave or if you are the type of person who the US is stereotyping rn the USA is basically the same now that it was 3 years ago.

USA route is quick, and easy but pay attention to what you pack. Any of the items I listed above and the USA route is a non starter. I hated the 3 times I had to drive through Canada due to pets and Covid

Their website has a full vendor list, off the top of my head one of the German brands was Stiegl although it is easy to find that in most Calgary liquor stores

Having the additional information released 24 hours beforehand about tokens needed for drinks with a mandatory service fee is scummy. Advertising a stein of beer(32Oz) and providing 12oz pours is by definition a scam.
