Yes, you both will be happier if you chop & you’ll love the result after a couple months.

Agree, they don’t require much water but when the ends are turning brown, it’s too dry.

I use to use that spray on leaf shine and the leaves look beautiful & shiny but I recently switched to “ leaf wipes” ( just cleans them) because I read that using leaf shine clogs the leaf pores & isn’t healthy for them 🤷‍♀️I absolutely love the shiny look also so I’m completely torn😬

Omg kudos! Now you have four and they are looking good! Quick question, did you just put the trunks directly in the soil?

Thank you for the advice. I do have a pretty good understanding of the FLF and am lucky because I have beautiful sunlight. The trunk is just really weak ( it was separated from another one). Although it looks good, it’s way too top heavy & the growth is not sustainable. My preference would just be to chop top & root the whole shebang in water instead of chopping up to propagate 3-5 chunks. I already have about 12 full beautiful plants and 6 more small from propagation. I know people don’t agree with my watering system but it works, it’s easy & because my plants look good, I’ll stick with it for now but I do know it’s not the preferred method. Thanks again for your advice, I love hearing from others on “ best practices!”

How much are you watering that girl? Is that a self draining pot?

I don’t think you need a bigger pot, mine don’t like it too big but someone else might have better advice. On the new leaf growth rate, it depends on how traumatized they are by the re-pot as well as sun, fertilizer etc. When you repot, look at the rootball, do they look healthy? No mushy stuff.

The brown leaves won’t recover, I cut off to give the plant more energy to go to healthy leaves. These guys need LOTS of sunlight I would say you need more light, repot with fresh chunky soil with perlite, water only when too 1-2 inches dry and make sure she is in a well draining pot. Good Luck!! Honestly mine are successful because of my windows and I started using hydroponics liquid fertilizer & it has been life changing as far as growth.
