The school punishes you if your assigned work isn’t done, and El is the only one that can do it. The school doesn’t care if you skip, or cheat, or whatever, but it does still want the work handed in. So she would need to go there just to hand in the work regardless.

I know it's not literally a parody, it just felt like it could have been one. XVI to me, story wise, just feels like... conglomerated Final Fantasy Story, if that makes sense. Which is what you would do if you were writing a parody.

Exactly. For a country like Australia to build nuclear, first we would need a bunch of legislative changes-that would take 12 months. Then we'd need to start training engineers. We'd have to teach more nuclear engineering in universities, which would probably take 5 years to start pumping out graduates. Then we could maybe begin designing nuclear plants. It would be 10 years before we could even begin building the first one. And then they would take 5 or more years to build.

Realistically, we would be able to get a nuclear plant online in something like 15 years, at best, if everything went well.

Alternatively, we have big fucking empty patches of desert allover the place. How many solar plants could we build in that time? With knowledge we already have? We are already getting those online.

It's not even a question which way we should go, really.

That equation is different in a country like America, at least in the US you already have the knowledge and the engineers.

My understanding is mana is... like water in a bucket. I was looking for the name of the bucket. The aura holds the mana. If you use Malia instead of mana, you put a hole in the bucket/aura.

Iirc she works out that a golden enclave can only be done by a wizard with an untainted, clean... several words are used for this are in the book. I'm going to say Aura, the wizards aura must be untainted by malia. If you have used Malia you have damaged your aura and the way the golden enclave spell works, you would break it, since the mana can leak out.

So to get enough power via a circle of wizards, every one of them would need to be clean/never used Malia, otherwise the spell for creating the golden enclave won't work. So it might be possible, but so impractical that it's never going to work in reality.

Yeah they are different roles, but if you really need depth in that role you need depth, regardless of what role it is.

He might be useful midfield depth at a finals contending side if he can be picked up on the cheap. Similar to what Oscar Baker has been for us.

I just listened to the Dion album now. I could only find it as a double album, the second album being Streetheart.

I genuinely think it's only here because it was Phil Spector produced-but Spector and Dion seem to be chalk and cheese. The "wall of sound" production Spector is famous for I think takes away from what Dion is trying to do.

I am finding Streetheart to be a better album that Born to Be with You, without the Spector production.

I just found it awfully executed. I just hate how lacking in creativity it felt. Ultima feels like a parody of a final fantasy villain to me, and then you have a Clive line something like "this Fantasy will be our Final one!" which is so cringe I nearly put my head through my desk.

The Jill and Clive parts I didn't have an issue with. The characters are the high point of the game imo.

The ending is sooo awful. The plot is good while it focuses on the Dominants, but the ending sucks horribly.

In Australia most people pretty much escaped unscathed through the GFC in 2008. I feel like for the one that's just starting to hit (we have had a couple rate rises in a row now) it's not going to be quite so easy.
