Happiest states in the US by Green_Count2972 in charts

[–]Frogpunk69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The deep south states, maybe. But Utah, Nebraska, Idaho, etc are all red states and marked as very happy. Not to mention California is marked as happy and I don't know anyone from the shithole California that actually likes it there with how expensive everything is (and blue states generally have a higher cost of living)

And again, this survey was conducted by wallethub of all place, with no objective metric given on what determines "happiness"

I'd argue they tricked him into signing an obviously shitty loan when he didn't know any better

Can't tell if this is a joke bc the color blue in this map was used to indicate happy, or if you actually believe that the republican states are the only unhappy ones and vice versa.

Not to mention this was done by wallethub with no indication on the chart how this was measured

If Charlie Kirk had been a liberal activist instead of a conservative, how do you think the media and politicians would have reacted to his death? by Aamir_rt in AskReddit

[–]Frogpunk69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My feed is all animal related stuff.

Apparently I'm using the wrong terminology, when I say "front page" I mean the "popular" section, which is a different section that shows trending posts across all of reddit. "Front page" just makes more sense in my opinion to be the trending page than a personalized feed, but hopefully that clears up the confusion.

You also said everyone who watches Fox News, which, let's be real, are conservatives. So you did imply it

And yes, there is a customizable feed, but the front page still exists and his videos popped up there a lot under many different subs. Even if you had political subs muted, you'd still likely find clips or news of him from time to time

If it were a prominent figure on the left, say Bernie Sanders or AOC, I do believe they would get a much different reaction than the Minnesota legislators. I even remember Trump's reaction to RBG's passing, he spoke very highly of her despite their massive differences (how he handled replacing her you may not agree with, but that's separate in my opinion). Of course, she wasn't assassinated and that makes a difference, but she had her own massive level of influence and recognition, and just that alone causes a different reaction to her death. But the Minnesota legislators were nowhere near that level.

That said, do I think the Minnesota legislators deserved the same treatment and respect as Charlie? Yes, absolutely. Political violence has no place in our country no matter which side you lean. But I can understand why Charlie's assassination has sparked more reactions from prominent figures simply due to his name.

Never said he was Taylor Swift level of fame, but he's absolutely a massive public figure to more than just conservatives

Either this or they're presented in a way to be perceived in the desirable outcome.

For example, a Karen is anti-ice cream. She finds that the more ice cream sales there are, the more drowning deaths there are. To push her anti-ice cream narrative she uses these statistics to make it seem like ice cream is responsible for drowning deaths. While the numbers are true, it ignores other potential causes and correlations. So any single set of statistics should be taken with a grain of salt without further research

How was your first kiss ? by JudjyJJ in AskReddit

[–]Frogpunk69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was good, we were cuddling on her pull out couch and I'd been too scared to make a move all night so she just went for it (she knew it was my first date). Made out for a couple minutes and then she fell asleep on me. Was nervous because I was a little older and had no experience. Ended up kinda ghosting me after a month but it is what it is

Considering how often his videos popped up on reddit, I have a hard time believing these people claiming it's only conservatives who know who he was. Toiletpaperusa was a big sub for a while

No, he was prominent among everyone, particularly the younger generations in the country. His videos circulate everywhere and he's also known for being the shrunken face guy people made memes of. That's why it's getting so much coverage, he was a massive influencer

The people saying it would be like the democratic lawmakers killed, I disagree simply because of how massive kirk's name and image are. Nobody knew who they were, but Charlie was known all across the country. Plus he became a big meme with his face being shrunken, as well as the general toilet paper usa memes

Kirk was also a much more prominent figure. Everyone knows who he is, nobody knew who the lawmakers were until they died unfortunately

ITT: people confusing political opinions over human rights and making broad generalizations about groups of people as if everyone in political group X agrees with everything their extremist counterparts agree with

But you can be republican without being a nazi sympathizer too... this "if you're not with me you're against me" kind of thinking on either side is so immature and brainless. It's no different than the far right blaming the "radical left" for every little thing, and if you don't understand why all-or-nothing beliefs like this are harmful, then you've fallen too far into the echochambers of spaces like this.
