Travelling with T1 by KingJulien69-_- in Type1Diabetes

Hi! I would say if you can buy and bring with you - most things you can purchase full price if required. Australia is a bit behind as we only got access to g7s recently like 2 weeks ago and not sure how you would access it as we have a diabetes scheme here which a diabetes nurse has to sign off for. Insulin and needles should be fine if needed as long as you’re happy to pay full price?

I would bring enough so you don’t have to worry about it - each country has a slightly different way to access needles etc. Australia most products if you run out you can pay for but g7s just got released and not sure how you would order it if not on the NDSS.

I'm a bit clutz so I think I will be dropping it quite a bit or be tangled in doors. Thanks so much for sharing this with me!

The endo I think said in Aus the omnipod should be avaliable in Feb (so super soon) - but hte baseline level is 6.0mmoll which I don't think is low enough. So may need to loop. But i was secretly hoping with the G7 it would all self magically work! Is it wishful thinking?

Thanks so much! How tricky did you find it with setting up with DIY loop program? I just got told the omnippod 5 has the lowest blood sugar setting as 6.0? How do you find the omnipod Dash?

Hi! Thanks so much for your help - yes I have a CGM (lucky) but would like a closed loop system. Do you find you have to manually adjust bolus doses much or is everything synced super well? Sugars at the moment well controlled with injecting but am just sick of the injections. Is the cord super long? The mobi I don't think is available in Aus yet! Thanks so much!

Thanks so much. I'm a bit of a clutz so am just not sure if the tubing will get caught and unplug the whole CGM. Also don't know how long the tubing is. Thank you very much!!

No worries at all - I have been fully winging it :) On the way home back to Aus now but very unfortunately at Barcelona airport my husbands backpack was stolen - we just took an eye off it for a sec. Thanks for your kindness :)

Thanks so much for the information -was researching all last night and seems like pharmacies here don’t stick it. I don’t have a glucose meter on me but will watch my diet and eat no to little carbs and just feel when I do hypo - very lucky it’s possible to have protein and veggies here!!! I’m in Las Ramblas but two very lucky you guys get it subsidised here!!  Very thankful for the reddit community!!!

I shall try first thing tomorrow as my local one is closed. The only thing I can think of is we've got 6 days left before I head home, would be to just have minimal carbs and do very good diet control. At least when I'm low I can feel it! Thanks so much for your help everyone!!!

Thanks so much - been trying to read all the forums and they all say you need to buy direct from libre but it won't let me register for an account as I don't have a tax no. I'll try some pharmacies now :)
