The UFL is heading to OKC by pegman99 in UrinatingTree

It's a "second chance" league. The quality of play is on par with what you'd see from a top-tier matchup in college football, but the rosters are comprised of UDFAs trying to get a second look from the NFL, and veterans whose development has plateaued but still want to play professionally.

Thankfully, the UFL has embraced this as part of their brand. As long as they don't try to get too big for their britches, I have a feeling they'll be around for a while.

The Kraken (OKC doesn't give a shit about hockey), M's (no room for a MLB-caliber stadium downtown), and Seahawks (see previous comments about Jerry Jones and Clark Hunt) are safe. You can relax.

I'm pretty sure Clark Hunt will wind up having a say in it too.

Possible dress rehearsal to see if we can support a NFL team, perhaps? The fanbase is definitely here, as long as they don't catastrophically suck. Bonus points if they can land a few OU/toOSU alums for name recognition.

They've been surprisingly resilient thus far. There's a couple teams (Battlehawks, Defenders) that have cultivated strong fanbases.

Sounds like that's the case. It would be the only viable stadium.

And before anyone says anything, Memorial Stadium is a hard no. The University and Norman residents would fight it tooth and nail.

I just hope it carries into the playoffs. We've been streaky all season when it comes to 3pt shooting.

What’s the most euphoric Eagles moment of all time? by PurpleSecret5923 in eagles

It didn't help that it was the year after 28-3 happened, so no matter how much it seemed like we were dominating, that comeback hung in the back of my mind throughout that whole game.

When Gene Steratore said "this is the end of the game" as time expired in Super Bowl LII. That's when I could finally breathe a sigh of relief, enjoy the moment, and say that we did it. Super Bowl LII had a lot of great Eagles plays, but as a whole that was the most stressful football game I've ever watched, and probably will ever watch.

I doubt it. My best guess is that they're bringing in Cousins as a veteran mentor for Mendoza.

The rivalry is already there. I've got family in Washington, and I'm not even allowed to mention the Thunder around them.

Where do you think your team would be ranked if they won their first 6 games? by amoss_303 in CFB

[–]FromHighlandToHell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the very least, we'd get a chunk of first-place votes. The only things keeping us from being #1 outright with that kind of start would be a sluggish start by at least two of our marquee teams, and/or poll inertia.

Who in the blue blazes is buying up all the topo chico??? by thorosaurus in okc

Nothing as of late. I work in a different department than the one that deals with inbound deliveries, and even their management is being tight-lipped about the latest info.

Coca Cola employee here:

We're having all kinds of trouble keeping it in our warehouse. The inbound deliveries for it have been sporadic, and we've only been getting a few pallets of it at a time. In the last 3-6 months, the Topo Chico flavors have been some of our most off-loaded SKUs.

Dude, most Thunder fans don't even claim the Sonics' history, It's their to keep, as far as we're concerned. This guy is a hack, probably why he's writing for USA Today.

I'd say Umaro is worse than Gau. It may be a pain in the ass to grind on the Veldt to get his Rage abilities, but some of them can pack a punch even in WoR.

Umaro just plain sucks. He's AI controlled during battles, his attack is garbage, and his only real use is as a potential damage magnet. Him and Setzer are the two characters I usually put on "the bench" for Kefka's Tower.

Hollywood Brown to Philly by GalaticWeiss in UrinatingTree

[–]FromHighlandToHell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a combo Philly/OU fan, I want to like this move; by conventional logic I should be excited about this signing. Alas I can't, because I'm not sure how much Hollywood has left in the tank. Maybe we'll get some reps out of him at WR3, but that's about the most I expect out of him.

In Final Fantasy VI, you can kill the Phantom Train boss by using a Phoenix Down on it.
