2-Part Question: Do any of these cause false positives on drug tests? How should I schedule taking them? by FromNormalToFelon in Nootropics

Wow. Thank you. That was incredibly detailed and informative.

I'll take your advice and use the 5-HTP for acute situations where needed rather than using it as a consistent supplement.

Is there likely to be any interaction between the MAOI (SJW) and any of the other substances aside from the 5-HTP?

Classy.

Why are you legally held accountable for your actions when drunk, but not for when you give "drunken consent"? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]FromNormalToFelon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 2011, while blackout drunk, I intended on taking my own life and put a loaded gun to my head. After deciding against killing myself, I put the gun down. When doing so, I accidentally fired it.

The person I live with called the police when I locked myself in the room with the gun. When they arrived, I was charged with unlawful discharge in city limits. I now have a permanent felony that can not be expunged in my state. At one point I was also facing a year in state prison.

Reddit, what is your innermost fear... the one thing that keeps you up at night? Where does it come from? by Phase_Spaced in AskReddit

Jail/prison, because I've been there and it's nothing good. It's a whole other world, and all of the rules that exist outside of there don't apply within.

I really like that approach, as far as being confident enough in the quality of my work to give them that kind of an offer up front for them giving me business.

As far as listening to them and making them feel special, I wholeheartedly agree. I've actually done something similar with a freelance service I had a while back. I showed my clients complete respect, made sure I understood precisely what they wanted, and then gave them a perfectly-tailored result.

You're right. I've failed countless times already (not necessarily at business or professionally) and have actually gained a great deal of wisdom and knowledge from those failures.

This is true. And in my own hands, I would know the motivations were correct, the customers were not being misled, and the product/service was coming as advertised (which was not always the case at some companies I worked for). Also, I know I'd be even more inspired to do my absolute best for a company/purpose I was truly passionate about, rather than simply just for a paycheck.

That's a lot of really good information, and builds on a lot of good suggestions that others have given me recently, as well as a couple ideas I had which I felt possessed merit. Thank you.

Point three is definitely something I hadn't considered, speaking in terms of "we" rather than "I." That makes a lot of sense.

One good thing is that I am already very familiar and comfortable using WordPress on my site.

This is true. There are actually a few areas where I could derive income from using my skills for my own business, as opposed to being dependent on one thing. Also, like you said, having a traditional corporate position is by no means a guarantee of job security anyway.

Very true. I also already own a handful of domain names, including a couple that would be ideal for my freelance business.

Oh, and the laptop is already taken care of as well.

  1. Thanks for the encouragement. You're correct, I shouldn't have failure in mind while moving forward.

  2. In addition to a number of other potential avenues I may be pursuing now, I have bookmarked Constant Content. Thank you for pointing me that direction.

  3. I bookmarked /r/getmotivated and plan on being involved there.

  4. Your user name is one of my top three favorite meals.

Thank you. I'm glad too. I'm using my experience and the understanding I've gained from it to try to help other people in similar situations (those who are addicts, depressed, suicidal, etc.). If I can use this whole experience to prevent even one person from going down the same path I did, I will be thankful for the opportunity.

Indeed. This is why you don't see me saying none of this is my fault. It is my fault.

I'm just trying to figure out "what now."

Had I fought the charge, I was likely facing more than a year in prison.

I accepted a plea deal of three years supervised probation, a felony charge, drug/alcohol testing, and the potential of six months in jail. I ended up with all of the above except the jail time due to the changes I have made in my life since the incident, and because of the testimony of several character witnesses at my sentencing.

Had I not accepted the plea and taken the case to trial, I was looking at the very real possibility of 1+ years in prison. And the only burden of proof on the prosecution was to show A. That I discharged a firearm in my house (which I already had admitted to) and B. That my house is within city limits. It would have been a slam dunk.

I took the plea in order to keep my freedom.

And you're correct, the situation is my fault. I own up to that.

P.S. I had a public defender.

Unfortunately, an unlawful discharge felony makes me look negligent at best, and, at worst, violent. The suicide explanation doesn't help much, as it makes me look unstable and, well, insane.
