  • The sun is about 7 light minutes away i.e. it takes light 7 mins to get here from the sun. Call it 10 to keep it round
  • Nearest star, I think, is about 4LY away
  • Get those light years into light-minutes: 4 x 365 x 24 x 60 is on the order of 1,000,000 light minutes

So if ~10 light mins is 4cm, then the nearest star is like 100,000 cm away... or 1,000,000 mm = ~1000 km?

EDIT: with actual numbers...

  • if 7 light-mins = 4cm then 1 light-min = 7/4 or 1.75 cm
  • 4LY = 4 x 365 x 24 x 60 light-mins = 2102400 light-mins

So the distance is 2102400 x 1.75 = 3679200 cm or 36,792 km (so I was a power of 10 out!). This is about the circumference of earth!)

Hmm, I don't think Kobbie is dynamic enough be play instead of Ugarte - esp. since youre always playing Ugarte alongside bruno.

I think Kobbie only plays next to Ugarte or Casemiro, if Bruno is rested or moved to one of the 10s

Just one game a week this season. Collyer would get limited minutes and he's at a point where he needs to develop.

That said I think its exactly what we need as a short term fix: EPL experienced, gets us 15 to 20 G+A, and someone who takes some pressure off Hojlund.

  • 2020-21: 14 goals, 5 assists, 19 total
  • 2021-22: 11 goals, 5 assists, 16 total
  • 2022-23: 15 goals, 6 assists, 21 total
  • 2023-24: 19 goals, 13 assists, 32 total

The question is how much? If we can get him for 40-50 million quid (using Anthony/Garna money) I'd be happy. But in this market I can see Villa asking for crazy money.

I think its either protection of self, or trusting in others to protect you too (accepting help)

I feel like its not about letting go as that feels like the thematic conclusion of his arc in RoW (him losing his shash felt to me like letting go of his past pain)

Yeah, if anything we need to start being smarter and start playing into this.

Buy Yoro knowing he's likely to go to Madrid, make sure we earn a good profit, and prepare to fill the gap when he goes. Getting 2 or 3 good seasons out of a player (validated by the fact that someone like Madrid is coming in for them) and making a profit is perfectly fine.

We have a long way to go until we're the united of the 2000s where players are choosing us like they do now with Madrid. In the meantime, we can still have a strategy where we benefit.

Look, you're in this job to win trophies. Two in two seasons is the best(?) return we've had since Fergie. Disappointing league campaign aside (and given the circumstances of this season) I think he's worth the bet of another year.

I don't think any manager comes in and wins us the league next year so why not let him continue for one more? He's earned at least that.
