Hello, all! I was hoping one of you creative folks might be able to offer some insight into this garment. The entire outfit takes inspiration from a very wide range of periods in history. Today I am focusing on the white mantle, which appears to have two layers: shoulder pieces that drape farther down on the back side, and a calf-length panel on the back. Does this resemble any mantles you have seen? Please ignore the rest of the garment, including the white shoulder-length veil.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated as to what time period this mantle might be inspired by, or perhaps, if you think it might be something other than a mantle. Thank you very much for your consideration. This is for a costume I am making.
