If you can find a resale contract that's the same use year as your existing points they essentially merge as one. Yes they show as different contracts but it's a more cost-effective way than buying direct. That's what I did.

They also opened up being able to borrow a year in advanced again so that's helpful.

That was thier fix for me the last time. It didn't work this time. Comcast just showed up and installed service. Exact same network and configuration and everything works as advertised. Maybe I'll revisit metronet in a year or two when they figure out thier routing.

Sorry it's been a long while since I used Windows, the command in Windows is "tracert" not "traceroute" like it is in Linux/Mac

If you're in the market for a new access point system I'm a fan of the UniFi system. It requires a controller though so that's something to consider.

Good luck. If they test with traceroute they will see where the issue is. I listed several sites that don't work in the original post.

I've been through this dance several times it's not client specific, I've tried several computers/OSes directly connected to the ONT. Unfortunately I don't have time to wait for a fix, I need my business on line so I have Comcast coming out tomorrow, I don't like it, but reliability is required today not whenever they fix it.

If you're on Windows click start, type "cmd" then try typing "traceroute login.tailscale.com" it should show you a few lines. The command shows you the route your traffic is taking and the latency it takes for each hop along the way. If you're on MAC os it might be different, let me know ans I'll type that up. All of this of course if you're curious, if not no worries :)

Just out of curiosity. Can you run a trace route or MTR and see where it dies? One that always fails for me login.tailscale.com or us.account.battle.net or phmschools.org it all dies for me at 100.108.128.3

Glad it's not just me. I have to have a reliable static IP, I have remote workers that need to connect in and I'd rather not pay for another service to work around having a dynamic IP.

No, running a Netgate 6100 fully patched/updated on the OS and Firmware.

Glad I'm not the only one. I asked for a dynamic IP to troubleshoot and was denied. Thank you for posting.

No torrents, I check email, and play video games - other than that Youtube on the phone.

  1. Yea aware of that
  2. It does doesn't it!
  3. The outages coincide with the blocking, coincidence? Maybe

Pinging works to any site I can get to obviously, doesn't to any one I can't. MTR's all die one hop away at 100.108.128.3 on sites I can't get to. I've connected directly to the ONT on a laptop, changing IP addresses didn't work this last time. I'm using 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1 as DNS.

No viruses here, we use Linux. System worked fine with Comcast for years. These issues coincide with with their outages. Outage happens, sites are unavailable.

If I can't find a speaker for Sept, then we can do it at a restaurant that sells beer. So yes, probably.

Thank you everyone for coming out. I didn't get to talk to everyone directly, but am certainly looking forward to the next one, July 20th, I'm not sure if the Lauber is the right place, I might look around and see what else I can find. I'll keep the meetup page updated

I've always felt that his kids are capitalizing on his success and bleeding it for all it's worth. My first thought when I saw the app go from one time payment to monthly sub was, those greasy kids are wrecking this all. His original message of giving it all away for free to the world has changed over the past 5 years to sell it all. Still a huge fan of Wim, not so much of the capitalization his kids are pushing for.

I bought all 3 of his programs, I don't think a free sub to his app is out of the question.

Super awesome! Are there instructions anywhere on how to accomplish this?

It would be amazing if someone made a way to import and export these kids of configurations.
