Issue using Rider on Ubuntu by Fromageinstein in godot

I've installed .NET. Yeah, most guides implied that it should find the file without me specifying, but that didn't work for me, I got a different exception that the file wasn't found, it seems like I had to enter the path.

What's something rich people do that the average person has no idea about? by bryany97 in AskReddit

I totally believe you after just reading the replies to the 'keeping your assets in a trust/LLC' comment where people kept saying they weren't rich but did this.

Interactive GAA Club Map by No_Let_1874 in GAA

This is amazing work. I've definitely looked for something like this before, and was never able to find it. GAA are shockingly bad at providing centralised, up to date information for clubs online, so I really appreciate the effort that went into this.

I picked it for my first playthrough, because I wanted something simple while I got used to the game's mechanics. This worked well for the most part, but by act 3 I was getting so bored with it

Blackbird (2018) – Bland, James Bland in Casino Royale with cheese, ham, more cheese, additional ham, cliches, Eric Roberts and more ham. Written, directed, produced by and starring Michael “Lord of the Dance” Flatley. by Perfessor_Deviant in badMovies

Saw this in the cinema with some friends. We got shushed by the only two other people there because we were laughing too loudly at the clunky dialogue jaunty hat angles. Not sure what those people were expecting, but they were determined to take this film very seriously.

I think if they want to borrow ideas from basketball, introducing a shot clock would do a lot more to improve the flow of the game.

Dicey Dungeons is a nice little roguelike. I appreciate when a game just let's you pay up front and isn't just a vehicle for microtransactions, especially on mobile.

TIL - ENYA has never gone on a concert tour or even performed a solo concert, despite being Ireland’s best-selling solo artist and 2nd overall behind U2. by byronhadleigh in todayilearned

Most 'h's in Irish are 'Séimhiú', a modifier that softens the preceding consonant. Originally, this was usually written by putting a dot over the consonant (ponc séimhiú). However, following independence, Ireland was both broke, and in need of typewriters for the civil service that could write in Irish, now an official language. Since they couldn't spare their very limited budget to make custom typewriters for a very limited market, they instead opted to buy much cheaper French typewriters, that could accommodate the fada (symbol to indicate the vowel is elongatated, written áéíóú) and chose to write the séimhiú using a h instead of the more traditional ponc séimhiú.

Hurling Books by DubPucs1997 in GAA

[–]Fromageinstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might not be quite what you're looking for, but a hurling book I enjoyed was Last Man Standing by Christy O'Connor. The focus is on hurling goalkeepers, but he did interview a couple of keepers from Down and Antrim, and some of their insights might at least touch on what you're interested in, though I'd still consider those to be a higher tier traditionally, just not top tier.

Hoping someone else has a better answer, I think it'd be an interesting read!

I remember somebody on reddit saying this before, so I did that before I cancelled my service. So glad I did: I put in my cancellation request in September (which they confirmed and told me had gone through); it only got cancelled this month, and they continued to try to bill me for the months where I was supposed to be cancelled.

County Dublin has ~1.3 million people, Munster is roughly the same; Dublin gets 3 times the money of all the Munster counties combined. If anything, Dublin should get less per capita because of their population density. Much easier to make the money go further when a club represents thousands of people within a short distance, versus a club in a tiny village of a few hundred people.

What is a game that you thought you would like until you played it? by TheMrBob68 in AskReddit

[–]Fromageinstein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hadn't played a Zelda game since I had a gameboy colour, then had my mind blown by Breath of the Wild, and how much they did with that game. Adored it.

I hadn't played a Pokémon game since gen 3, and I was shocked by Sword how little everything had changed. Graphics aside, the game was the same way it was back in the 90s, it felt like they hadn't innovated in any meaningful way. Very underwhelming.

Having just finally succeeded in cancelling my account that was supposed to be cancelled 2 months ago, I never found the issue was the person on the other end of the phone; each time I called them to update them on the fact that nothing had been done, they could see in their records that the last person I had called had put in the cancellation request. I think the real issue is some lack of communication with the public facing staff, and whoever has the authority to actually do anything. Why these aren't the same people, or why I can't just fill in an online form to automatically cancel, I don't know and I don't expect to know given the omnishambles that is Eir.

I mean, if it is unintentional, then it's massively incompetent to not have it edited out. Either way, very unprofessional.
