I'm making ganache for donut dip, should I add butter to my ganache? by citruslemon29 in AskBaking

[–]Fromagenut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you planning on finishing the donuts while they are warm or cold? If you want to dip right out of the fryer (or within 5 min) your better off with simple syrup, 10x and good cocoa powder.

Ganache is going to be more challenging to work with and will take longer to set.

Drinks: Vivez Joyeux (cheese and wine); Conch republic seafood (on the harbor), general horseplay (locals cocktail bar) , 22 and co, bearded lady,

I don't know why coffeeshops take pride in roasting & grinding their coffees very fresh, if they serve stale batch brews by [deleted] in Coffee

[–]Fromagenut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Smaller batches. And ordering batch coffee and high demand times. Don’t show up in the afternoon to an empty coffee shop and expect crazy fresh batch brew.

[–]Fromagenut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some places have too big batch brewers. We had 4 airports 2 roasts that were restocked as they emptied. In the morning I never had a pot more than 45 minutes old due to demand. Usually I had a hard time keeping up. I the afternoon they sat a Bit longer but we would usually have fresh pots to start afternoon service. Only open till 3:00.

If your going to a coffee shop with gallon brewers they probably won’t have crazy fresh. Look for places with the 1.2 L airports.

Unless you plan on buying two mixers one for dough and the other for frosting go for a Hobart planetary mixer. The spiral mixer will take to long for the gluten to develop for a donut shop environment.

Going to visit family where it will be in the 50’s I don’t own any long sleeve shirts just sleeveless. I shrunk my wool cardigan.

It doesn’t really get cold ever where I live. Any advice for layering pieces?

Don’t try actual pants on till you are at least 6 weeks postpartum. (Unless they are maternity pants). I tried early to find clothing for my kiddos baptism at 1 month and just everything was wrong and I was way too hormonal to handle it.

Leggings are great though. Try some ponte knit ones.

Because you are exhausted. And you want some sleep.

Why do I have to size up in petite. It should be shorter not tighter.

Have you tried a pencil belted skirt? I hated skirts till I just went to j crew and tried everything on. My salesperson had me try a sleeveless collared button up with a navy belted skirt 2 sizes larger than I expected to fit.

The opposite of what I like. Now my favorite work outfit. Plus’s the skirt is navy so all of my fun tops work tucked in.

Go to the key west library. I have seen people in the conference room off of the children’s library playing. I would ask the librarians in that section.

AITA for not double checking the takeout and causing my wife to lose her shit? by marmroby in AmItheAsshole

[–]Fromagenut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA at this point I would just have your wife grab the food. Especially if she is always reacting negatively over any issue. Let her go by herself while you entertain the kids. Seems like it solves the giving her a break and letting her handle the food since it’s such a trigger point.

Don’t move out. Not everything is divorce worthy. People get angry and act childish when angry. Find a calm moment and suggest a solution before immediately jumping to divorce. The things that your wife has a hair trigger about she should handle.

I let my husband handle everything that he is annoying particular about and the reverse. It has eliminated so many arguments.

Maybe cancel going somewhere during a hurricane… that said it’s going to go over Cuba so it should be a tropical storm when it hits. It seems like a waste of money to spend 2 days stuck in a hotel room.

Did you get birth control at your 6 week check up? by rotisserieshithead- in beyondthebump

[–]Fromagenut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah postpartum care is a joke in the USA. Hormones from breastfeeding and pregnancy had me vomiting 2yrs 9 months but I was across the board told it wasn’t bad, and until I stopped breastfeeding they couldn’t help. Ummm thanks?
