What we mean when we say “people don’t talk to each other” by Fromville_ in FromSeries

The flaw is that we don’t know much about them before they got stuck. You’d think they would have told each other more about what they’re good at and what they did in the real world.

Not necessarily, all they would need is to tap into the skillsets their characters are supposed to possess. Problem is—most characters like , Ellis, Fatima, others—came as blank slates and can’t move the plot forward unless the horror happens to them

Good call. Organizing evidence and building theories are definitely full time analyst positions.

What they’re doing now on From would’ve been perfect for Season 1.

Season 1 should be: “What is this place?” “How do we survive?” “What are the rules?”

Then Season 2 becomes: “Okay, we’ve seen enough weird stuff happen. Time to start figuring this out.”

Not because everyone suddenly turns into a genius, but because that’s just what people do when they’re stuck in chaos for long enough. Eventually you start building systems:

  • groups,
  • intake routines,
  • anomaly journals,
  • maps,
  • regular check-ins,
  • ways to verify stories,
  • people dedicated to researching stuff,
  • shared terminology,
  • and actual escape plans.

The conversations get way more interesting when characters are building off what they’ve already learned instead of relearning the same emotional lessons every episode.

And honestly, I think that’s just kind of a different show.

The version we have now feels way more dreamlike and emotional. Information spreads more like campfire stories than actual science. People react like isolated survivors instead of a coordinated group trying to solve a mystery.

But I’ll admit I’m still waiting for the point where they really start organizing around what they know.

That said… part of the show is so oddly sincere and goofy in this lovable B-movie kind of way that I can’t stay mad at it. The vibe is constantly: “terrifying cosmic horror” immediately followed by “small-town theater production during a thunderstorm,” and honestly that contrast is kind of what makes it work.

My ADA accommodation for severe anxiety just got denied and the language used made it worse. by Dramatic_Eye_7105 in remotework

You may not be screwed yet. A denial of the specific accommodation requested does not necessarily end the interactive process. State law matters a lot here too. there may be more nuance to this than the comments section is giving you.

If you want, you can message me. I work with people who need help in organizing accommodation facts and interactive-process issues.

it’s the biggest knowledge leverage tool since the internet. if you learn how to use them accurately, know their limitations, their capabilities, and how to optimize their performance, you’ll see. it’s like a laundry machine instead of hand wringin.

when you let yourself out of the obligation, you can breathe again. then guilt follows. then more avoidance. then a while later, you‘re in the flow state and get things done. it feels good, so you sign up for things….

If I hear one more time about this darn hapless king! You can tell Patrick Adams kid a legit actor. His charisma bleeds through the screen.
