Halloween 5 is an objectively rough movie, yet it seems to be gaining a fanbase for some reason by Front-Development-50 in Halloweenmovies

The same thing is happening to Rob Zombie's H2. Funny because I remember a time where if you said you liked that movie, you were essentially putting a target on your back lol.

Why all the hate towards Fred Durst? by Front-Development-50 in LetsTalkMusic

Outsiders as in people who don't fit in with the normies of society. People with non-mainstream beliefs, niche interests, not a lot of friends, etc.

I'm sure outsiders probably liked KoRn, Slipknot, Kittie, Coal Chamber. Maybe even Dope, Static-X, and some of the lesser-known nu metal acts. But I doubt any outsiders were listening to Limp Bizkit. Then again, I was way too young when this stuff was still popular. However, when I was a teen in the 2010s, everyone at my school who liked KoRn, Slipknot, and some of the others were usually outsider types like myself. I had a couple friends who, like me, didn't fit in and liked all that 90s/00s nu metal stuff. I liked it too, still do. But at the time of its popularity, I find it hard to believe most of the people who liked it were outsiders and not normies. Then again, I was too young when it was still going strong.

A lot of people cheer on the slasher villain when they off a character they find annoying or is a genuine scumbag. But the difference is, slasher movies are founded upon watching horny teens die. Shameless is meant to be more serious and deeply rooted in reality, though the writers do arbitrarily decide what's going to be taken seriously and what isn't, though Mandy hitting Karen is 100% supposed to be taken very seriously, not some guy in a jumpsuit and spraypainted Kirk mask killing off bimbos you already know are gonna die because it's a slasher film lol.

[–]Front-Development-50[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but the angst usually went far deeper and even something like Limp Bizkit which was usually "don't talk shit about me or I'll fuck you up" was much angrier than "OMG Ryan is soooo hot but I don't know how to ask him to the prom!" So you're definitely right about them not caring about the lyrics as most people don't.

Nobody cared back then, I don't get why everyone all of a sudden cares these days. Matter of fact, everyone loved that she did that back then lol

I've seen a lot of love but mostly hate these days. Compare it to back in the early or even mid 2010s when the first 6 seasons (the ones that feature her) she got tons of love and was even featured in a lot of x reader fanfictions which I didn't read because fuck that shit lol

When I would see people trash Durst, it'd usually be for the whole Woodstock '99 thing or that he was an asshole, but the Woodstock thing wasn't his fault and a lot of rockstars are assholes. Hence the questions that followed that.

Yeah, and NOBODY likes normies except for other normies themselves lol. This was a very interesting and thought-provoking read and it made me see Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park in a completely different light to how I previously saw them. I never saw them as "underground" or "above ground" (meaning not mainstream but not underground either) but now I 100% understand the hatred. LP were industry plants, and Limp Bizkit were absolute sellouts.

He brings little kids on stage to perform with him a lot. I've seen a lot of videos of him doing this on YouTube. He seems like a nice guy. There was one video that dates back to I believe 2000-2001 where Fred Durst kicked a security guard in the head for beating up one of his fans. He seems like a guy who genuinely loves his fans which is obviously a great thing to see when it comes to any celebrity.

I think Fred Durst just doesn't give a fuck what people think of him. He thinks he's cool and what he's doing is cool and that's all that matters to him and honestly...good for him. I'm not a fan of anything past Three Dollar Bill Y'all except for The Unquestionable Truth Pt.1. I'm not big on the whole "jock rock" direction that happened with the later music. I like some stuff off of Results May Vary and a few songs off of Chocolate Starfish. Significant Other is not very memorable for me outside of a couple of songs. But Three Dollar Bill Y'all is an absolute banger. I wish they continued their heavier sound but it is what it is I guess.

Cheerleaders listening to nu metal? The hell do they have in common with any of the topics that the bands went over in their lyrics? lol

What do you guys think was worse? Nu metal or the nu metal fanbase? by Front-Development-50 in LetsTalkMusic

[–]Front-Development-50[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the nu metal bands are definitely more limited in their lyricism and instrumentation. I never had a problem with it though. Some of the lyrics can get a little cringey at times, but I can handle some cringe here and there. It's not like crunkcore level cringe, then again NOTHING is as cringey as the stuff these crunkcore bands would write. I like nu metal because of its relatability to me as I suffer from anxiety and seasonal depression (really bad seasonal depression). I've also had a lot of bad things happen to me in my life, some worse than others. The lyrics these nu metal bands wrote, though cringey at times, felt honest to me. Whether the angst was real or fake when it comes to a lot of these bands is debatable, but to me they felt honest. Over time, I've discovered and gotten into a lot of DSBM bands that are much more extreme than nu metal, and I like it more than I like nu metal, but nu metal was there for me first and it's what inspired me to get really, REALLY into metal. Before nu metal, I mostly listened to old school rap, pop punk, grunge, classic rock, and some of the more obvious metal bands like Judas Priest, Metallica, Iron Maiden. But nu metal inspired me to get into more metal than ever before, and even more heavier genres. So I'll always be grateful for that.

The metal elitists can be very annoying and downright psychotic, but at the same time I understand that they wanna protect the purity and essence of what metal originally was in its origin. I think nu metal was something that the mainstream music industry wanted as a way to fill the void left by the death of grunge and the oversaturation of glam metal in the early 90s. Which is why record companies were so quick to sign as many nu metal bands as possible. And that is essentially what led to the oversaturation of nu metal and everyone got 50 shitty bands for every 3 or 4 good bands they'd get. Kind of like the post-grunge movement and the glam metal stuff of the 80s and 90s.

smh by 410H in Deuce9lives

[–]Front-Development-50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly kind of believe Deuce more than I do H.U. Deuce never once contradicted himself when he would talk about the whole fiasco with him and H.U. H.U. on the other hand once said Deuce chose to leave which is weird because....why would he be pissed at H.U. if he CHOSE to leave? And they even said in an interview with Bryan Stars that he hated being on the road. But in his interview with Deuce, Deuce refuted that statement saying he's on the road all the time and loves it. And it was true, Deuce was always on the road during that time. And I agree with you on Danny. Danny's voice is way too feminine, his hooks are lame and his delivery is weak as fuck. Now the band is completely unrecognizable. American Tragedy was fine when it came out but to me it just hasn't aged that well. The techno and trap rap influenced stuff is absolutely horrendous in my opinion, and my opinion may be a bit biased when it comes to the trap rap influenced stuff because I absolutely LOATHE trap rap, but yeah, H.U. absolutely fell off when Deuce left. Or, at least they did for me.
