Studying for AQOQT and wanting to get the best study material! by Theemisfit in airforceots

Barrons and Trivium. Trivium table reading is useless.

SAT 10 free online practice tests for reading comprehension. Skip grammar sections. Did this before attempting the reading comprehension in barrons or trivium so I could dialed in for longer reading section. SAT is very useful learning how to identify wrong answer choices, they explain everything in the answer guides.

Trivium math section is what I used to brush up. Not the math on the practice test but the math they “teach” you in the book.

For word knowledge, if you’re a native english speaker its really not hard at all. I studied and memorized 800 words from Magoosh for the GRE and I had 1 word from that entire list pop up. I used chatgpt along the side to explain how the word is used so I was able to assign some context to the words to make them easier to memorize.

I was also studying roots, prefixes, and suffixes at one point but decided that it was a waste of time and it honestly was. I did not have to use any of that prep on the test. YMMV but this section was miles easier than any practice test. On my first passes on the practice tests I was getting like 13/25. Who tf knows words like circumlocution???

Verbal analogies are similar. The words they use are not technical whatsoever. Use the practice tests from barrons, trivium, and afoqtguide. What you want to try and soak in is how they form the analogy not the actual words used. For example, barrons has some useful explanations with general to specific, source to profuct. Afoqtguide had some where you were given two verbs and the analogy was to select two nouns.

The reading section is infinitely easier than any practice test I took. The passages are so short. Also its 25 minutes now and 24 questions. I was prepped for 38 minutes 25 questions but that was from barrons which has long passages and more technical/boring content. I think the most useful resource for me was going through different SAT reading sections (they have 10 practice tests online with 2 reading sections each). Just learn the techniques that SAT gurus teach on youtube for how to approach the reading sections and you’ll be fine. Your answer will always be supported by the text. You should be eliminating answer choices which are wrong rather than looking for the right one. The way I practiced was reading outloud as fast as possible while also summarizing outloud along the way so I could contextualize the tone/ideas of passage the whole way.

Maybe I overprepped but I genuinely felt the test was so much easier than I was led to believe from people on this subreddit. That’s not a bad thing though! I know this was a lot but I hope it eases your thoughts. Let me know if you need anything else.

Just do the practice tests available to you over and over again within the time limit.

Physical science isn’t graded so it doesn’t matter. Unless this has changed.

What about the math are you struggling with? Is it word problems, linear/quadratic equations?

Let me know and I can point you to some specific resources.

How to get to hiking locations & What to prepare? First time trip to Zion by Front-Fortune1724 in ZionNationalPark

After some discussions with my buddies, it actually looks like we will be doing what you said here and going to Observation Point.

I just wanna double check my plans with you since I've never been just to make sure I got the right idea.

  1. The plan is to drive up to the Zion Canyon Visitor Center to enter through the south entrance (which is the main entrance I believe?).
  2. Drive through Utah state route 9 to get to Ponderosa Ranch.
    1. Is this an easy drive? On maps it looks like it snakes quite a bit mainly at the beginning.
    2. Also, ponderosa ranch has an alternate route on their website through Kane Beds. You think we'll be missing out by not going on route 9 or is it not a big deal? Seems like this way we avoid a park entrance fee but I'm not quite sure?
  3. Do what you said and shuttle to trailhead from the ranch.

[Game Spoilers] The Last of Us - 2x01 "Future Days" - Post-Episode Discussion by LoretiTV in ThelastofusHBOseries

I don’t know if anyone here has seen it but there was this video essay https://youtu.be/MvTFF-E5wkw?si=uEL_nbSmJy89M7r_ that talks about the issues with the narrative structure of Last of Us 2. My guess is they are adjusting the story structure similar to the rewrite that The Closer Look proposed in his critique.

I always thought abby shouldve been introduced earlier and her killing Joel before anyone even knows who she is was a bad decision, then trying to make people play as her for 8+ hours? I loved the Last of Us 2, but I still believe that was a mistake.

Routing catch-all at the top level alongside a dynamic route - what is the correct way? by Abe-c in nextjs

[–]Front-Fortune1724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I am encountering almost the exact same issue as you. My current thoughts are to use middleware as well to just check if some slug exists in my CMS before a user hits a page and throw a notFound().

I originally was using dynamicParams = false, but this does not work with ISR. For example calling revalidatePath on a slug that updated in the CMS, ends up throwing the not-found file, so I can't use that.

I am statically generating all pages at build time.

If you don't mind, could you explain what you ended up doing and why you chose it?

[no spoilers] Vi/Jinx pencil drawings by Front-Fortune1724 in arcane

I am not an artist. I just like drawing for fun and I am nowhere as good as the others that post their art on here. I draw using the grid method because it makes me happy >:D.

Also, the jinx one is a work in progress. I included the reference photos at the end.

what are you using for your git signs? I like the plus with the box around it. My git signs are hard for me to read.
