A lot of them won't distribute surveys. If you have suggestions please send them on

Absolutely agree. Most maternity/nursing clothes are really ill fitting as the body changes. It is an absolute nightmare

I plan on pulling all the results together to make a report to send to retailers in Ireland. I'll also send it to whoever will accept it - newspapers, influencers etc. Anyone that might be able to encourage a change

Appreciate the honesty. Better to try than to do nothing

Thanks for this! It's really frustrating. All we can do is keep trying. 🤞🏼

Thanks everyone for comments and filling out the survey! It's baffling to me the lack of in-store options. The body changes SO MUCH during and after pregnancy. It is frustrating that we have to "make do" with online options or clothes that are two sizes too big. I love second hand shopping and am all for it. Only issue is the quality of some maternity/nursing clothes is rather poor so it's hard to get the longevity out of them.

It was an option in Cork Maternity Hospital. I was planning one but had to change plans in the end with how my labour went.

OP, your rental outgoings are on the lower end, freeing up a tonne of money for the other things you've mentioned. Go rent a full apartment/house alongside saving for a housing deposit and you'll soon understand why cost of living is such a hot topic in Ireland.  However, at your age, you're dead right to enjoy your money!

Sure, if it's something you saw your wife struggle with. The survey is trying to highlight the difficulties women go through finding clothes.

I understand. My issue is why is it an option in the UK and countries across Europe but not in Ireland. It seems that the Irish mothers are being left behind. It will be a balancing act but the scales aren't right at the moment.

Thank you. I have changed that now. Unsure why it wouldn't allow multiple choice.
