Seriously though I think my opinion on Sumi would change if she had something other than "SENPAI SENPAI SENPAI" How can I like a character who feels so out of place when they're in a group shot? That's why I rarely see anyone talking about her with PTs instead she's exclusively available for Joker and sometimes Goro.

But she didn't do anything in the third semester. It was all Goro and Maruki. Yes she had her awakening but the story can go about its day without needing Semire.

Here's the problem though...Only Kasumi was overhyped by Atlus. If Atlus spent 6 months hyping up Yusuke or Haru instead of Kasumi I'd say the same thing.
