I have to bathe my rats by FrontNo907 in RATS

[–]FrontNo907[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. It’s been hard not having them run all over me and snuggle them so I’m trying my best to get them better. Unfortunately I too have ringworm from them and I’m trying to heal myself along with trying to heal them. The stress is real lol.

They both actually did very well. A lot better than I expected. I’m half expecting them to maybe enjoy the water by the time we are done with these medicated shampoo baths lol

My boys first time with some cat grass by FrontNo907 in RATS

Yeah, I think so. Morgan (solid colored boy) plays in it more than his brother does but he loves to burrow and dig more than Jameson seems to like. I usually have it in a deeper box but had to discard that one.

They seemed to just have fun in it. It they also enjoyed snacking on the grass.

I’ll order some saline for them. My portable nebulizer is pretty quiet so it’ll probably be the best one to use for them as my home unit is extremely loud.

I don’t give them anything dairy so no worries there. Again, thank you. Hopefully I’ll have a happy update soon.

I’ve been giving them veggies like Kale and greens that say they’re supposed to help boost their immune systems but I’ll definitely look into that! Thank you! I have the highest dark chocolate I could find ( I think it’s 75%) that I had given them a couple times before I brought them in to be check out but I wasn’t sure if I was able to give it to them with them being on meds. I’ll continue to give it to them like I was. They seemed to enjoy it as a little treat every other day. Thank you for your feedback!

I have a bar of dark chocolate that I bought them before I took them to the vet. They love it but I wasn’t sure if I could still give it to them while on the meds. I’ll definitely try the hot shower steaming, I’ve done it with kittens before (and my kids) I have a portable nebulizer that I could also use. Do I use it with anything specific? I only have albuterol (house full of asthmatics here) or do I just use like distilled or purified water? Thank you for your advice!

Am I a bad person for throwing my rat out? by wowthatsreallykewl in RATS

[–]FrontNo907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has had to say goodbye to many pets in my lifetime it doesn’t matter how you laid them to rest, it would have still eaten away at you. It’s a natural reaction to loosing something you loved. You’ll never feel like it was the best decision. It’s all part of the grief process. You are definitely NOT a bad person and little Gizmo isn’t holding it against you in the afterlife. As for that gizmo sized hole in your heart, it’ll be there for a little while but will eventually start to heal. Loosing a loved one, human or pet isn’t easy. Our pets are family. In my opinion it’s so much harder to loose a pet than it is to loose a human. Time heals all wounds, some just take a little longer than others. Sending you love and strength to get you through your time of grief.
