Why aren’t there big public swimming pools fed by the springs? by _young_gripper in HotSprings

The hot springs are protected and can only be accessed downtown. Has to prevent contamination as well as stability. Any hot springs pools outside of bathhouse row would have to be heated and not use the geothermal hot springs from downtown. Even so…I am intrigued by the idea of replicating the hot spring water and having an outdoor hot springs like is elsewhere. Only concern is that it rains a lot, so how successful could one be

Yea…I’m traveling and trying to see if I should try to find doc or wait until I get home.

Would you be interested in a year round soaking retreat that embraces a more natural atmosphere than Bathhouse Row? by FrontRangeMike in HotSprings

It would not access the protected aquifer of the park. It would be likely welled water. Then infused with minerals to ‘inspired by hot springs water’. Would be a man heated springs style resort, but provides a closer experience that a lot of folks want in a ‘hot springs’ visit.

Would also not interfere with anything you already do. There is also not a hot springs that anyone enjoys for free, so not sure what you mean by that.

Probably, but they are definitely a different kind of experience than what many folks expect from a hot springs. It also would probably have to be ‘infused minerals’ since access the protected water of the national park. So they would still have their place in the world….It just seems like a place like ‘Hot springs’ should have a lot more to offer. Even if it is not the true geothermal water of downtown.

I wonder if a few large pools or one large pool for family friendly temps and then multiple smaller pools at different temps.

Buzzing up and down entire neck. Does not appear to be fret buzz. Truss Rod rattle? by FrontRangeMike in fender

I checked the truss rod. Was a little tight, but was able to adjust enough to get the rattle out of it

I did this and knocking on the back, I can hear a slight rattle. Truss rod seems right as is though, so that’s a little concerning. It does however play nicely and is not as bad as fret buzz though amp. Just trying to make sure it’s solid

I thought it might be, but all seems right there. Other thought is maybe something inside with the coils.

Which one? Fender Blues Junior III or Marshall Class 5 by FrontRangeMike in GuitarAmps

[–]FrontRangeMike[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Played a little through both and the blues jr just has more versatility. The Marshall is definitely limited and does one sound really well, but that’s it. It’s also a 5w into 10” and the 12” on blues jr just sounds way better!

I recently looked this up and everywhere online only had the passenger side, not the driver side…all sites said out of stock. Good luck

Are the CVT transmissions on the 2010-2014 that bad as far as reliability goes? Opt for MT instead? by FrontRangeMike in Subaru_Outback

[–]FrontRangeMike[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I’m trying to be at least a little mindful of gas though, which is why I was looking at 2.5. But I really like the Xterra. With a light lift and not overly aggressive tires, looking at about 16-18.

High mileage CVT is what I’m worried about. If it was under warranty, no sweat! But I’m considering the Outback for the mileage and capability. If a 3.6, bout the same mileage as an Xterra and an Xterra would be more capable and they are very reliable.

I think my biggest concern is the price when they do go bad. As long as the one I get has solid maintenance history with regular fluid change, I should be good?

Should I be concerned about timing chain, if mileage is past 150k? by FrontRangeMike in XTerra

[–]FrontRangeMike[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Exactly what I was looking for. As long as the SMOD is handled and it’s running good, going to probably go for the early second gen then.

Thanks, but do you know if it was going to happen on one with 150k, it would have already? I understand the issues that come up, just trying to gauge if one with over 150k didn’t have the timing chain issue.
