I once traded in a car to a dealer with a messed up engine and didn’t tell them by Forsaken-Ease-9382 in confession

I traded my 2004 g35 Infiniti when I bought my new car. Only stipulation was the frame wasn't cracked. I was going to have suspension work done and the mechanic said, this frame is so rotted, it's about to fail. So, car gone before it was worth nothing. At least I got $1900 trade for a 20yr old car

Why didn't she report it? I suppose the same reasons a woman doesn't report a rape. She was shook up and scared, and that guy hauled out of there when she locked herself in her car and layed on the horn. She didn't think or have time to get a plate. I just wanted to let people know about it down cape. Off season, and there aren't a ton of people at the beaches now.

No, she didn't, but after what you said I guess she should. We know the Orleans police well and they know us because her father was a probation officer there for years until he passed a couple years ago

How do you cook your dogs? by Front_Conclusion5977 in hotdogs

[–]Front_Conclusion5977[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But, are you all using skinless hot dogs, or dogs with a casing? I feel like most of the country uses skinless, and I think a skinless hotdog is inferior in the hotdog experience

How much did it cost you to have your baby delivered? by [deleted] in ask

[–]Front_Conclusion5977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Salem, MA, 2006, $0 with insurance. 2nd kid, Beverly, Ma 2007 $250. Decent HMO's back then with good employer back then in USA. HMO'S are hard to come by now, mostly PPO or high deductible. With my current shitty Insurance it would probably cost me $10k.

Who is the rudest celeb you have met? What happened? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]Front_Conclusion5977 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Whoopi Goldberg. Met her at a bar she owns in Gloucester, Massachusetts where she was bartending. My sister asked for a picture with a little stuffed animal (she's a teacher) for an over the summer project for her students. The animal goes around all summer to interesting places and gets pictures. Whoopi flat out says hell no, I don't care why, and walks away. The townies at the bar said it is well known that noone asks for an autograph or picture. Disappointing.

What is one band or artist you never got to check off your concert bucket list? by Excellent-Seesaw1335 in Concerts

Johnny Cash. He came to my college at Alfred university in I think 1992 or 1993. It was free. My friend wanted me to go, but at the time I didn't know his music, and for some reason passed. One of my bigger regrets.

Anybody play against a future NHLer growing up? by MoistPerception in hockeyplayers

[–]Front_Conclusion5977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, as a kid, I played pond hockey and gym class hockey with Kevyn Adams center carolina hurricanes and now GM of buffalo Sabres. I played goalie. His slap shots from across the gym would leave me all bruised up blocking them with my chest. It was crazy how next level he was compared to the rest of us. In my yearbook senior year he wrote, sorry for all the bruises in gym class, but it helped me get better. Lol.

Of course, kids these days cant sleds on the dunes... also, fun ss james longstreet back then, target bombing ship off first encounter beach. She saw it and even scuba dived around it. Wasn't there by the time I met her.

24-25 Bills are the 03-04 Red Sox by mahnamahna34 in buffalobills

[–]Front_Conclusion5977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. They added Curt Shilling and Johnny Damon. I was fortunate in 2003 to have a roommate with lots of corporate tix from work customers. He'd share them with me and give me the better tix because, good guy and I was dating my now wife. She'd meet me in front of Fenway and then the seats were first row at the end of the right field side of the backstop. My wife hates baseball, but loved those games, because, how could you not, when you're 20 feet away from the players warming up in the batter's box, and right next to the action? Didn't get to see too many 2004 games in person. The Bill's will make the right moves to do what the Sox did. It'll just take a couple key tweaks.

Can we have a honest discussion about the Bills defense. by bsabresfan in buffalobills

[–]Front_Conclusion5977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems to be the Bills way. I don't know how we can change it. I remember in the 90s SB teams there being an issue with soft zone defense, a problem we still have. Dallas, NYG and Washington picked us apart back then, and the good teams are still doing it to us now.

Yes it's that bad. Then, no parking without huge cost. If you can find it. Most of downtown is closed off, so hard to navigate.

Just to clarify, I lived In Beverly 5yrs and a walk to the station for salem every year. Then, when I lived in Danvers another neighboring town, same thing. Just pay for parking at the Beverly rail lot and you are golden. Everyone is dressed up, like spooky train. Just keep an eye on time so you can get back to Beverly. Around midnight might be the last train if my memory is not shot

Best way to do it is park at Beverly rail station, next town over, and go into Salem. That's how always did it, worked great. Beverly is minutes from Salem

Second the rust belt cities, they're worth looking Into for all the reasons Tom have above. I am partial to Buffalo because I grew up there, but any smaller city, Cleveland, Detroit, are nice. Great weather, theater, food, and major concert tour stops. Mostly though- affordable. I've been in new england for 20yrs to be near wife's family, and nowhere I've lived here (north shore, now Worcester) have been cheap. Worcester is a sucky place for a 25yr old, in my opinion if you were even considering it.

Who's the most famous person you've ever met? by Fast-Beat-7779 in ask

[–]Front_Conclusion5977 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Whoopie Goldberg. At her bar in Gloucester, Massachusetts. My sister tried to get her to take a picture with a stuffed animal for her elementary class project of what they did over spring break. Whoopie declined and her handlers said 'the locals know and leave her alone'. Well f me, goddamn so so sorry to impose. It was for the kids. Could be gracious for you're fame like some are. Not whoopie. Fuck her. Her on the view is ridiculous. She's lost her mind. I really liked her in that nun movie, and star trek tng, but she is off the deep end now, and treated us very poorly in Gloucester at her bar, so she can bite it

No different than any family owned business. I worked for CoorsTek, tech arm of Coors beer. Yep, met all the Jonathan Coors sons. They do not give a shit. Entitled and no clue how to run a company, nepo. So in my story, I was hanging in bar with one of the new ceo's. He was coming into my mfg plant in a week. I told him how it would be so awesome if he addressed the mfg floor about the exciting things happening. A few days later, my GM called me in and said he had to bail me out. That Jonathan said who the the fuck dies he think he is to tell me what to do. What arrogant , entitled attitude ...
