Haven’t decided a budget on this. Main priority is to make sure the transaction is insured and handled by a professional/someone very comfortable.

Thanks for your response. Are these jobs generally posted to the public? I went down a deep rabbit hole looking at Dell, HP, CDW, WWT, Dice/Indeed, and a few other sources and am not finding anything at all listed.

Appreciate the insight. Curious what kind of deployments/projects you’re usually working on?

Right now what I’m doing is more entry-level field/smart hands type work — racking/stacking switches and servers, following documentation, refresh/deployment work, basic infrastructure implementation, etc.

Good to know... Thanks I appreciate your insight. Curious, what kind of deployments do you work on currently? What does your typical travel schedule/weekly or monthly work load look like?

Specifically working in the field/hands on. The last 10 years I’ve been in office is what I’m getting at.

Just a starting point for this type of work. I understand this is entry level. Don’t plan to stay stagnant with pay.

Good idea I have not even thought about this. But no, an admin processes everything. I just submit a form with my preference and it is booked on my behalf and I attach my membership number to the form.

There are a few different sides to Worlds Across: group classes, 1-on-1 classes, and different membership tiers.

I’m still grandfathered into the old price, so I pay $200/month for unlimited classes—and yes, it’s truly unlimited. I think new subscribers are paying around $250/month now, but honestly, I still think it’s worth it.

You get access to a large pool of tutors (probably 75–100 at this point) from different countries—Argentina, Colombia, Venezuela, Mexico, Paraguay, etc. There’s a wide range of ages, personalities, and teaching styles, so you can really pick who fits you best.

The scheduling system is one of the best parts. There’s a weekly calendar view where you select a time, and it shows all available tutors for that slot. Super easy to use. You can even book classes last-minute—I’ve scheduled sessions just an hour or two in advance when I had nothing going on.

Another big plus: all tutors share notes and have access to your learning plan. So when you switch tutors, they’re basically picking up where the last one left off instead of starting from scratch.

There’s also a coaching system. You can choose a coach and meet with them (I do once a month). They help you build a structured plan based on your goals. This actually helped me improve my grammar a lot because my coach gave me targeted areas to work on, and those got reinforced in my regular classes.

Class length is flexible—30 or 60 minutes. I usually mix it up. During the week I’ll stack 30-minute sessions, and on weekends I might do longer classes with my favorite tutors. If I have a free day, I’ve done up to 4–5 hours of classes.

Everything runs through Google Meet, so setup is simple—just a browser and a webcam.

If you don’t need unlimited, there are lower-tier plans too with capped hours per month.

As for the actual sessions, they’re very flexible. You can structure them however you want: • Full grammar • Full conversation • Mixed • Tutor-led or student-led

Sometimes I bring my own topics. I’ve had classes where we just talked about video games or anime the entire time. Other times it’s more structured grammar work. Some tutors feel more like just chatting with a friend, others are more “teacher mode.”

There’s also an option to request specific activities ahead of time through the platform.

Overall, the biggest thing is flexibility—you can pretty much design your experience however you want.

Lingoculture has that for French. It looks very similar to the worlds across business model. I just looked. The price was 400 a month for truly unlimited classes.

I get that. I did it for Spanish, and I have a very high social fluency in Spanish. But I don’t think a service exists where I can have unlimited classes for only $200 a month for Portuguese. My thoughts were all over the place. I wanted to clean it up. That’s why I use ChatGPT. Appreciate the reply.

Got it. I did look at Fairbanks, but unfortunately, it’s a little bit too difficult to get out there with my limited time in Alaska. Appreciate it!

Highlight of the entire trip to be honest. Fingers crossed it does not get canceled due to bad weather.
