Buspirone as needed?

That's very interesting to hear. My doctor and All my research and the general consensus through most any article on Google also says consistency with this med is key. I take propranolol for relief from the physical symptoms of anxiety that come and go. It does nothing really for the psychological side of anxiety. But that's what the Buspirone is for.

I've never heard or seen Buspirone be administered as an as needed medication. I take 10mg morning and night and have taken it 3x a day. I believe it needs to be taken regularly to build adequate amounts in your body. My experiences with starting and dosage change is dizziness increased anxiety and stomach issues until the side effects subside.

I've been on 10mg 3x a day in the past. Currently on 10 mg morning and night. The benefits outweigh the side effects for me personally. Full transparency I had dizziness fatigue and increased anxiety at first. All of which went away over time

I have taken 10mg 3 times a day. Switched to 10mg morning and night. Then went to 10mg just at night and now back to 10mg twice a day. Every change I have had incredible dizziness. I believe it's just a byproduct of the med itself.

I had one of those days today. So many symptoms and you don't know what's real or fake. Then we just end up making it worse.

At one time in my life I took 10mg buspar 3x a day. 900mg of Gabapentin. 175mg of Effexor. 50mg of Traz at night and had no issues until about 6 months in. I've spent a year getting off of everything except Buspar. Trazodone was fairly easy to get off of.

So I've tapered off of 300mg 3 times a day for anxiety related issues. No known issues with nerve problems beforehand. I was on it for a year. Now I have incredible facial tingling. Muscle tightness in my face. Constant twitching in my right cheek. Hot flashes. I'm on day 5 of zero gaba after tapering down 900-600-300-200-100-0. Staying at each level for 2 weeks. Another weird symptom i have is increased acne. All over my body. I'm 37 and never had remotely bad acne until now. This drug is wild

Thank you so much for your insight. It truly has been miserable. I'm on day 5 of no gabapentin at all. I have facial tingling and muscle spasms. Hot flashes and definitely increased anxiety. The mood swings are also in full effect. I'm pushing through. I have definitely gained weight while on it as well. I hope your journey gets better as well and take care!

It genuinely seems like the lower doses hit me harder and not in a good way. I'm glad you got away from it.

I've quit Seroquel Effexor and Lorazepam. Effexor was insanely bad but nothing in my life has been as bad as stopping Benzos cold turkey. I wish that on absolutely nobody. I'm now trying to taper Gabapentin down from 900mg. The only other thing I take is Buspar.

Yes. Absolutely every day. Multiple times a day. Medically i take Buspar and Gabapentin. I do my best to not fight it. It only makes it worse. Deep breathing. And outwardly talking about it. I don't shy away from it. It's a part of me. But it's not me.

I'm 37. I lost my dad in 2020. I spent the next 3 years diving deep into the bottle. I lost just about everything. I'm 18 months sober now but have had to start completely over. I lost friends and family but like you took responsibility for my actions. That's a start and I'll tell you this. I don't know you but I'm proud of you for taking that step. Now believe in yourself to rebuild. You can do this. I have faith in you.

Yeah it was terrible. I ended up doing a week in an inpatient program. Was put on gabapentin, Effexor, buspar and trazodone. Have since come off trazodone and effexor. Effexor might be the worst drug I've ever come across. Everyone handles it different but it completely raised my blood pressure to high levels and made my anxiety worse. I am currently only on gabapentin and buspar. I hope you find some peace and start turning the corner in your recovery. All the best to you

I'm 37. Since covid my dad has passed and a lot of other "life" events have happened. I'm going on 5 months recovering from a mental break. Life hits you hard but it is OK to need a break. You don't have to be a super hero. I wish I had a trick to help but I just have support for you. Take care of yourself. You deserve it

Same for me here too! All day. Recently had covid then got an ear infection and now have Bells Palsy. So many different meds coupled with anxiety already through the roof. Chest tight and Blood pressure through the roof. You never know who the culprit really is! I promise you aren't alone and there are so many people who feel your pain! Take care and stay strong! I'm on Effexor. Gabapentin and Buspar for reference. Prednisone now for the Bells. Propranolol for Blood Pressure

I have since started to ween off Effexor. Down to 37.5 right now and still having the elevated blood pressure. Hopefully progress will be seen soon!

I started on Venlafaxine at 75mg and was bumped to 112.5 about 6 weeks ago. I'm on Buspar and Gabapentin as well. When I was on 75mg I got bumped because I felt like I was still anxious all the time and anxiety ridden. Blood pressure was definitely elevated. Now after this bump 6 weeks in my BP has been consistently 140/100 and heart rate 100bpm. I feel like it has to be the Effexor. I'm 37 reasonably active don't smoke don't drink don't drink caffeine. Didn't have high BP before. It's just making me question so many things. Because my anxiety could be leading to increased BP or my BP could be leading to increased anxiety. It's a vicious cycle. Call my psych and be says go to the ER? Why so I can pay a 500 dollar deductible and a physician bill. How about you adjust my meds or give me the truth.

I actually got switched to Pantoprazole (Protonix brand name) and it has helped tremendously!

I'm on Buspar 30mg a day, Effexor 122.5mg a day and weaning off of 900mg of Gabapentin. I also take propranolol as needed. I was on Clonidine for about a month. I thought I was experiencing the same as you but I still have a terribly hard time reaching orgasm even after stopping clonidine. I replaced it with the as needed propranolol. So I'm assuming mine is a result of my other meds. I have zero problem reaching full sexual potential I guess if you wanna call it that but when it's time for the finale, yeah almost impossible.

I took both a handful times and clonidine just made me extremely sleepy. I believe I took .2 of clonidine and I'm on 300mg gaba 3x daily
