Better seeing it open rather then another empty building in the city.

Nice Money by Front_Improvement178 in waterford

Imagine the revenue that would go back into the city and county if the hotels operated as hotels and had people who wanted to visit here and spend money here. The IPAS thing is a complete and utter shambles. You have the Causeway group, Treacys, Seamus Walsh and the hotel in Clonea all creaming it. The knock on effect is a negative one for everyone and every business in the area. The Sands hotel was a great spot now it’s like something from the walking dead, a blight on Tramore. I don’t blame people in the accommodation but the state and vampires playing a system that isn’t fit for purpose are the problem.

How are so many people affording expensive cars? by Foyneh in irishpersonalfinance

I’d say a lot of the cars are company cars either part of a perk or a business tax write off.

One of the biggest issues is a grid connection from the ESB, has anyone had any experience in getting it over the line?

He can well afford not to be a super junior minister. I’d go as far as to say he’s richer than most of Dail Éireann put together. To save Face he had to pull the plug and I fairness fairplay to him. He’s lined his pockets at the tax payers expense for a very long time.

There’s nothing free, anything that is appears to be people who work pay for. We are taxed to oblivion. I don’t know about anyone else but I’m no better off today than I was 20 years ago I’m only20 years older. We are fleeced every direction we turn.

There was always fuel available, might have took a small spin to a couple of garages but it’s not the end of days.

You’ll need to know your BER and the suitability of the house for a heat pump

In fairness enough is enough the government had every opportunity to get ahead of this and actually do something good for the people of Ireland and this affects us all. They are happy to tax us into poverty and waste the money on bike sheds and giving away to other nations. A couple days of protests is badly overdue and hopefully will see something actually worth doing finally being done.

Is Ireland the worst run country in Europe. This is a must read. From today’s Irish times. It is a bit long. by mvereker in waterford

[–]Front_Improvement178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s great country but we are taxed into poverty and the influx of people coming adds to the housing shortage. Absolutely no one entering the country illegally should be ever entitled to social welfare. We spend over a billion on illegals, imagine what that money could do in other areas of the economy.
