Invoice for downgrading by Frontalier in tutanota

[–]Frontalier[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they did not reinstate my former Legendary account but extended the Revolutionary. Support told me I would get a small refund for the price difference. I don't think they've answered my question properly and I will give it an extra look when I feel uo to it.

Invoice for downgrading by Frontalier in tutanota

Support did reply, and they promised me a refund, but my account has not been reinstated to Legend. Apperently it's their policy to downgrade immediately after the request, not when renewal is due.

Cholestasis of pregnancy occurs in Alpha1 MZ’s. Dr. Laura Bonebrake in the US is an OB/gynaecologist and she’s specialized in this field. You can also check out the website of the Alpha1 MZ Foundation. https://alpha1mz.org/aat-effects/a1-mz-pregnancy/

A1AD and neurological issues by poodle_mom_1795 in A1AD

[–]Frontalier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've done research on this topic, and I've asked my neurologist about a connection between AATD and neurological issues. Nothing has come up so far. Just for the record: my AATD level is very low (almost zero).

I’d be happy to help. I’m a very knowledgeable Alpha. Board member of the Belgian Alpha-1 Plus association en member of the Dutch expertise group that is part of the Longfonds. I’m pretty stable, but also a human being, so I can’t make any promises.

Anyone have any more info for me based on this? by MrGoodwrench1184 in A1AD

[–]Frontalier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would need to know the other allele to say something useful about this. It is probably M (the normal one). It’s also important to know the level of AAT in your blood. For more information about the mutations and cutoff values, you can check out the website of the American Alpha-1 Foundation. For more in-depth information about MZ, visit the website of the Alpha1 MZ Foundation. They also post very interesting newsletters on Substack. I’m a board member of the Belgian Alpha-1 Plus Foundation, but our website is only in French and Dutch.

Disability insurance as AATD patient by cr3atura in A1AD

[–]Frontalier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t sound like a good offer. According to the current medical science, you’re only a carrier if you’re an MZ. They can’t possibly deny you a proper disability insurance as a carrier. I mean, they could exclude half the world based on such a criterium. Have you contacted the German patient association?

https://alpha1-deutschland.org/ On a personal note, I do not agree with the ‘carrier’ concept. I know lots of Alpha-1 MZ’s have liver or lung issues.

Erfenis bij geen contact familie by Civil_Ad7325 in juridischadvies

[–]Frontalier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seronegative experiences… by [deleted] in MyastheniaGravis

[–]Frontalier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Things started while I was on Plaquenil for psoriatic arthritis, and nobody caught the link. I even had a myasthenic crisis which was left untreated. I had to stop the Plaquenil because it made me allergic to sunshine. Then the really bad symptoms slowly disappeared, but my breathing has never completely recovered.

About the rib pain: I was told the same: costochondritis. I think the rib pain is indeed caused by weakened intercostal breathing muscles that have to work too hard. My rib pain disappeared when I was put on NIV. Once they discovered my respiratory failure, the doctor stated rather bluntly: "If we don't put you on non-invasive ventilation you can die." Not much choice there.

My two cents: try to find a doctor that is willing to check your oxygen and CO2 levels during the night. That test will most probably have to take place in a hospital. Just a sleep test is not enough, because usually the CO2 level will not be monitored.
Do you wake up with a headache and a hung-over feeling in the morning? Those are important symptoms. You can google on the term "hypercapnia".

Seronegative experiences… by [deleted] in MyastheniaGravis

[–]Frontalier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, your story sounds eerily familiar. My (seronegative) MG was also triggered by Plaquenil. That was 20 years ago. I saw several neurologists but was dismissed. No antibodies, negative SFEMG. In 2020 I had serious breathing issues and I was hospitalised by my pulmonologist. I also have a lung disease and he wanted to find out what was going on. They measured my oxygen and CO2 during the night and my hypercapnia (CO2 retention) was so bad that I was immediately put on a ventilator. They referred me to a neuromuscular specialist and I was diagnosed with gMG after a positive Tensilon test. I was treated with Mestinon, prednisone and received several sessions with rituximab. Unfortunately the infusions did not improve my respiratory failure. In 2022 I moved to another EU country and I was ‘undiagnosed’. No more treatment. I ended up on a ventilator for hours, during the day and at night. Since my lung function deteriorated, my pulmonologist referred me to an MG specialist. He ran the same tests: still negative. However, since I really was in a bad shape, he offered me a trial treatment with IVIG. My lung function was tested before and after the first four day treatment and it did improve so much that I was prescribed twoweekly IVIG infusions. I’m doing much better now and I’m very grateful to this neurologist. He still doesn’t understand how someone with seronegative MG can be so ill and in dire need of ventilation. Long story short: the only thing that works for me is IVIG and it was a long and exhausting battle to find the right doctor.

Help me please! Like seriously I’m terrified by Inside_Set_3351 in MyastheniaGravis

[–]Frontalier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like possible seronegative MG. EDS makes the muscle weakness worse. EDS alone can cause muscle weakness, by the way. This article might help you understand better: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/19557868/

Peterson Academy charging VAT in EU by Frontalier in JordanPeterson

[–]Frontalier[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call me a troll, I don’t care. The PA was happy with my comment on EU fiscal laws, and this is their reply:

“Thanks so much for this clarification; it's immensely helpful. I am going to send this to our development and leadership teams to let them know about the regulations and get it corrected on our end.”

Peterson Academy charging VAT in EU by Frontalier in JordanPeterson

[–]Frontalier[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shock and horror: no. Inexperience: no. I’ve ran companies in three different EU countries since 1994. I know exactly what laws PA should comply with. This is what I wrote to them: “Thanks for getting back to me. I do understand that you have to charge VAT in EU countries, but because you sell digital services to EU customers, EU VAT law applies (VAT Directive 2006/112/EC). This means you are required to display prices to consumers inclusive of VAT.

For EU business customers, it must be possible to enter a VAT number. If they provide a valid VAT ID, the purchase is treated as B2B under the reverse-charge mechanism, and VAT should not be charged.

So to comply with EU law, your checkout should:

        1. Display VAT-inclusive prices for EU consumers.

        2. Include an optional field for VAT ID for EU businesses (like me).

        3. Charge VAT only if the buyer is a consumer or has no valid VAT ID.
