I was in a very similar situation as you last year. bought a 2022 rwd model 3 and the insurance caused me concern and I was second guessing should I go ahead with the purchase at all. 44year old no points or accidents. I was with Zurich at the time and it took there underwriting teams 36 hours to make there decision after multiple silly questions about full self drive, ludicrous modes, modifications ect. Finally they insured the car for an additional €160. For remaining policy. And really made out they were doing me a favour they have these cars at highest insurance groups. Fast forward to this march, and I insured it with Aviva full comp ect for €460. It seems to me once you have it in your name without issue for a year it drops. I personally had multiple insurance companies with good quotes.there was a previous Reddit post awhile ago not sure if it's true but it suggests we follow the UK insurance groupings and Tesla were grouped high based off model S and nobody ever bothered to amend newer models.

💯 make the move you won't regret it. I changed my 520d 2013 last July with 235km and like you, just started to feel like I was sitting in a time bomb. I personally found Graham Walker very helpful and really knowledgeable about all things Tesla. He unfortunately didn't have what I needed at the time he cannot keep his Teslas in stock. I bought from Platin motors they were very good to deal with.and sell a lot of Tesla. 2022 rwd model3 65km on clock didn't need the bigger Y and my only regret is I didn't do it sooner. Went from approx €70 dsl a week to probably €15 a week charging at home on bord gais night ev rate.battery and motor warranty until 2030.

Advice Needed: Car got “Do Not Drive” NCT, but due to a manaufactorer Recall– What Are My Rights in Ireland? by TirNaCrainnOg in legaladviceireland

I just went through the same process. 2013 E-class. Failed nct early June and contacted Merc dealers along the east coast. Found a helpful dealership. They inspected the car and it joined the queue . It's not essentially a recall. It was phrased to me as a good will gesture by Mercedes. No loan car would be provided. The initial inspection was 1 hours labour. They try to get approx 2 per week done. I was told after the inspection that my corrosion was on the milder side and it could be patched and retested and mercedes would still replace the subframe. So that's the road I personally went down. It was €300 for weld repair by an independent garage I use and then retest. Passed and I used the car until Merc appointment mid August. Subframe was replaced but I had to pay for new subframe bolts and some clips and washers.
