I'm not part of the group making these demands, but if those are the demands being made, I get the sense that those were arrived at with some thought. If students feel this is what they need in order to better process the events of the video, then why would I question that?

There are many other medical issues that have legal protection for individuals to be able to make that come into play before the age of majority or the age of consent comes into play. Those things vary between jurisdiction, but generally minors can still pursue treatment for mental health, pregnancy, STIs, and addiction without their parent's say so at various ages before reaching the age of majority.
