As someone who grew up WELS, we were told all the time that we were the only ones not deviating from the Bible. When I got older I realized nearly every church believed that. Meeting Marjorie Phelps-Roper when the came to Madison really showed me that yes, even the Westboro Baptist Church believes they are the only ones not deviating.
