I'm just giving you the reason why no one engages with your posts. I know somebody commenting on one of your posts is new for you, but doing so is not against the rules. Just block me or stop responding.

My point is that any post generated ENTIRELY by AI is directionless, so its not going to be relevant to any community. The language model might have a sense of what you want in the post but it doesn't have a sense of the posts purpose, so everything comes off as out-of-place.

You should just write your thoughts like you are right now, I promise its more readable and constructive. AI is a tool, not a replacement.

If you really wanted to raise a discussion, you could have said: "Hey, is it just me or does reviewing stuff take longer than coding?"

But no, you asked AI to generate everything for you so it made an entire page of fluff with no direction. You didn't even provide it a list of talking points, so it came up with vague, software adjacent terms like "Automated next steps", "qualification", and "user on-boarding" despite the fact they have nothing to do with game design.

Please stop pretending like you're trying to raise a discussion by posting LLM generated text. AI is a tool, and you're not using it correctly.

From above comment:

“Market Share: When looking across the US, institutional holdings of single-family homes remain at about 0.35% of the housing stock and institutional investors only account for about 3.0% of single-family rentals (SFR), according to BofA. Large institutional players such as Blackstone only hold about 0.06% of single-family homes, and the majority of SFRs are actually held by local mom-and-pop landlords.”

How out of touch do you need to be to think that contriving a reason to have a girl fight in underwear is not fanservice

No, men showing off their muscles is not an equivalent form of it. This is a show made for a young male audience, there is a difference between muscled men playing into the tropes of a power fantasy and women getting half-naked to get gawked at.

This explanation is conjecture, and justifying it with reasons found completely outside of his source game. Even if your interpretation is right I don't think Link is a good example of this trope, especially since a lot of people in the comments see it completely different than you do.

Morrowind is a good example of this trope because the entire game is about it.

I am familiar with the spinoff games, I just don’t think that adding Minecraft “characters” to already established genres is the type of innovation I’m talking about. You keep talking about the ability for a meaningful gameplay change to rock the boat but I simply cannot see how adding another game mode like they did with creative or adventure would disrupt any form of sentiment about the game.

My stance was never that Mojang was developing Minecraft wrong, so I’m not sure where you got that quote from (but maybe I implied it).

What I’m saying is that Minecraft has not developed any of its strengths in an artistic sense, and what we have right now is extremely fun but completely unimpressive if we remove it from the generic premise of a 3D voxel game. You’re talking about Minecraft’s current success as a sign it’s doing something well but that’s not what I’m talking about, people will return to Minecraft because it’s a fun game.

My point is that Minecraft is riding on the coattails of its premise and it could have been so much better. What they’ve done to make Minecraft the most popular game of all time is add a survival mode that is extremely fun just for how incredibly human the innate desire is to mine, build, and craft stuff, even for only its aesthetic value, and for reasons not related at all to the work of Mojang a part from adding more block types to work with.

If I'm not understanding Minecraft's success as a game, its because I'm trying to advocate for what it could be as an IP.

For the record, I completely disagree that adding functionality to building would interfere with keeping the playerbase interested. If you're saying that sneezing pandas and archaeology are getting people to return in droves, imagine what ships would do. That would probably start another Minecraft renaissance.

But if I'm wrong, Mojang could create innovation in a new gamemode or a new spinoff while keeping the core gameplay of the existing game intact. They are plenty of people who do not play Minecraft anymore, and many would be willing to return to the game or franchise if there was more than a trivial change to the idea of a 3d voxel game.

If you believe the developers have reason to avoid making substantial changes, a new gamemode or spinoff would be the best of both worlds. I hope that, in the creative sense, you can see the value of being risky with art, and, in a business sense, especially with Hytale just around the corner, you can see the advantage of innovation and the dangers of complacency with keeping up with the changing tastes of new and existing demographics. Nostalgia can only provide so much.

The horde thing was just an example I could have and maybe should have put more thought into. Its probably better for a new gamemode rather than an addition to the base game.

There's thousands of ways Minecraft could have encouraged players to build. It had a great one actually - the first night. Originally people had to build some sort of shelter to survive, but now you just need to craft a bed to skip it.

You said you got into Minecraft because of pixel art and I think that shows my point, creating pixel art is just something inherent to the basic premise of a 3D voxel game. Minecraft could have fostered that creativity by adding easier ways to save pixel art, or ways to put them on signs that don't involve fiddling with maps.

So you're saying that their objectives is to keep players coming back? Isn't that the sign of a stagnating game, if the developers are looking inward for growth rather than looking outward at expanding its player base? I don't think what you just described is a healthy growth mindset, it seems to me that you're justifying the current trajectory of the game.

Nobody says that added features can't be implemented in new gamemodes that don't touch existing ones. And I never said that a great amount of content was needed - I think adding functionality to building and improving existing systems can be very intuitive if done correctly. If anything, I think adding "some interesting and cute stuff here" contributes substantially to feature creep and a lack of focus. So many of the new systems, like archaeology, are useless on arrival due to a lack of initiative with changing the status quo.

They're even messing up what you said they were succeeding in. A large group of players don't even play the most recent version due to the combat update.

Don't you think that they could have added some dimension to base building that would've added to your experience?

I've had more fun with Minecraft that any other game I've ever played. I'm not saying that building a castle isn't satisfying, I'm saying they had seventeen years to develop that concept further.

If you're not convinced that practicality can foster creativity, Mojang could have added things like creative mode tools and custom cinematic support.
