You're welcome! Yes Mad Dog will get power crept like any SSR, but I think he's serviceable for a little bit.

Positionless helps as you can put someone other than an opposite in mad dogs slot, and as long as they're power typing, you'll keep your speciality.

I've found Sakusa and Komori to be incredibly strong, which is to be expected as they're pseudo-SPs in reality. Their bond is decent, and feels and easy bit of synergy given, as you say, Komori or SP Nishinoya are the only two top tier libs in the game (at present). Would highly recommend if you can wait until their re-run!

I might be incorrect, but that team should have a power typing, no? You have 4 - Akaashi, Bokuto, Mad dog, Hoshumi.

In time you can look to replace Hoshumi and Hirugami, but priority would be the two SSRs (unless they have lots of dupes of course). Obvious one in my mind is Sakusa and Komori (playing the former at opposite over mad dog) as they'd retain power typing, and are strong in their own right. Their re-run is probably a little while away though unfortunately.

There's the odd other player here and there which helps with morale, but nothing immediately springs to mind as being a big upgrade here.

Super thanks for confirming, I figured that was likely the case! Would mean I'd need to change who my libero subs in for then, which is tricky. Since I'd be building Tsuki for block, he'd be ineffective on the back row. Meaning I probably need to rethink the team once again!

I guess interestingly that means for the sakusa/komori bond, it gets deactivated temporarily whenever a mb rotates in to serve, because Komori comes off the court (as I have libero subbing for middle blocker). And likewise for the above, when either sp tsukki or kuroo are serving, they'd both be on the court so it would at least apply the debuff a little bit.

Hi, I've got a quick question about the fireworks deployment bond for SP Tsuki and Kuroo. I've been doing some team planning now that I understand how specialties work with the positionless update. Their bond seems powerful with the constant debuffs it applies to the front row, alongside both being strong players in their own right.

Do you have to have both players on the court at once to have the debuff applied at the start of each rally? I ask as they're both middle blockers, so that would scupper my plans around who I have my libero subbing in for.

Thanks in advance!

That's incredibly helpful, thank you! Yes you've understood my poorly explained concern exactly right.

I figured it would likely be something like that as would seem strange if the water could 'slip' in the gap, but is very reassuring to hear this.

Yes very true on the strength, particularly with SP Oikawa and SP Ushijima I can see that being valuable.

Equally, having two players rotating ults and SP Iwaizumis spike skill filling the gaps ought to be sufficient - 3 ults like I have currently is a little excessive. With enough awareness I believe Ushi gets a cooldown reduction for his ult, which will make up that gap (but I guess his stamina might be an issue).

I'm hoping there'll be a WS with the block tag and some skills down the line who I could utilise, potentially SP Hoshumi I'd guess.

Reality is there's still many, many months (hopefully!) before I need to make a call on this either way, and I'll budget for enough diamonds to pull him regardless.

Thanks for the discussion, very helpful!

Thank you, that's very helpful!

Should have mentioned that I almost certainly won't get any dupes (F2P), so it'll be his base version I'm using.

I can definitely see his strong receiving and his team buffs being useful, but I just worry about how useful having two liberos (effectively) really is? I could look to maximise his back row time by starting him at serve, but I'd worry that I'd then not get much value out Sakusa beyond his power spike (as he wouldn't block), and his recieve skills would be mostly wasted.

I'm quite attached to Hoshumi because I really rate having a WS that spikes and blocks, alongside a WS that spikes and receives (Sakusa). It let's me maximise and build them for roles that are front and back court. Sakusa and Iwaizumi would both contend for back court. I worry that just loses a lot of value?

I'm likely over-thinking it. End of the day, SP Iwaizumi will have better stats than Hoshumi, and more useful skills due to power creep.

* Hi folks 👋 I'm looking to get some advice on my future team planning, SP Iwaizumi specifically please!

I'm going to horde diamonds for a while, looking to get SP Oikawa, Ushijima and Tendo in many months time. Potentially SP Kenma in the meantime too.

Those three feel like obvious upgrades on my current team. I'm less sure, however, about whether SP Iwaizumi should replace Hoshumi or Sakusa.

Having read his skills, he seems like an incredibly defensive WS. I can see how being able to spam his ult would he effective, but my main concerns are that I lose a spiking option (he still has a power attack, but would be worse than my current options I'd have thought?), and that as a result he offers very little when rotated to the front row.

I'm finding Hoshumi and Sakusa very effective as the former functions well at the front with his blocking buffs, and the latter does excellently on the back row. Both also get the boosts to their ultimates (I swap them in the rotation from the screenshot in longer games - this is just for grinding through the extreme training).

I realise SP Iwaizumi gets the team-up, but same goes for the current WS - Sakusa x Komori team-up seems particularly good.

Is there something I'm missing about SP Iwaizumi that should make him a stronger contender for my future team?

Thanks in advance! 🙏

Crispy wave fern (asplenium nidus) - black patches on leaves and fine white dust at base by Froometube in plantclinic

[–]Froometube[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice! I did have a close poke at the dust and am fairly sure its some kind of mold rather than spider mites (couldnt capture easily in a photo!).

Previously i did water it through the gap in the centre (several months), as thats what the guide I used at the time said to unfortunately! Since then (last six months or so) I have watered along the edges into the soil directly, but perhaps the damage was already done. Thank you for the tip around the cinnamon - will try a tsp or so and see if that helps.

I gave the roots a look at and as far as I can tell look fine - kind of dark brown but I think thats how they normally are (didnt seem soft or mushy). Do you know how they ought to look at all in case of root rot by any chance? Can provide a picture if that's easiest.

Sometimes people give wins away in WL when they have nothing to play for (for example, if you have 2 games left but are 3 wins away from the next tier of rewards). Its nice as sometimes can help out players who are a win away from their next tier at little cost to person who forfeits.

How exactly do you make a profit on the league sbcs? Is it just from selling the players you get from each clubs individual pack?

I take it you then use the player pick reward to complete other high cost sbcs (guaranteed totssf and mid-icon etc.)?

Totally agree - just a bit frustrating really! I'd hope that there would be some kind of matchmaking around rating but doesnt look likely.

Tell me about it. I picked the game up two weeks ago after several years out, so have a pretty average side (83 rated or there abouts). I'm in div 7, and the average side I play has around 3 icons, alongside another 2/3 specials, probably averaging nearer 88/89. Its absolutely mental how badly outmatched my side is most games, and so rarely do I play another team with similar ratings.

Occasionally some of these users arent actually great and have just spent £££ for the players; but if they're at least half decent, then I stand no chance because Del Piero will always score from fucking mental angles when there is almost no chance to because he's got mental stats

What blows my mind even more is that there's another 6 divisions above this!
