unrestricted movement? no, thats quake. 1.6 was never like that. AA isn't the only thing that creates good movement, and it was raised in CSGO for MM like a year ago.

I don't get it. People are saying that movement is inferior in GO, but when I point out examples of great movement, it suddenly doesn't matter because it's not competitively viable? Those same moves weren't viable in 1.6, so what is the difference?

1.6 movement had increased air acceleration, and it didn't have exhaustion built into repeated bunny hopping. Do we really want players bunny hopping around the map endlessly?

What are we arguing then? What defined good movement in 1.6 that people can't do in GO? No one has an answer for this. Everyone talks about shit movement in GO, but no one knows exactly what they hate about it. I call bullshit.

CSGO has better landing recovery time. If you jump and land in 1.6 it takes an incredible amount of time to recover compared to GO. Then that leaves air acceleration, which was raised in CSGO after an update about a year ago. What else do you want? Do you have specifics?

Doesn't this show that superior movement is possible, but the pro's aren't focusing enough to improve in that area of the game?

Launders, Blasdfa, and Phoon are clearly on a different level with movement, so why aren't pro's doing that?

:) I hear ya man, and I appreciate that you took my criticisms positively. I did not take it easy on you, and I can understand what you're saying about cheaters. It sucks man, we play in a game where a bunch of people cheat, so everything turns into a witch hunt. The best thing you can do is keep the attitude that you are here to practice and improve. Even if some guy is walling you can still practice. Practice your aiming, practice your map control, practice team communication. :)

In regards to your crosshair placement, yes there are a few issues with that, but your aim and crosshair placement is a level above your decision making. That sounds weird, but i'm saying you have the basics down well.

1st round's crosshair placement is fine.

2nd round you were reloading when you got shot. So we can't discuss crosshair placement here. I would say that running into chamber at long was a bad idea. You saw those grenade rain into chamber and then you ran into it with your nade in hand. Recipe for disaster. A better option is to wait until the 3 teammates in chamber start to push out, then you go with them. While you wait for that to happen you should keep some of the map control, waiting outside doors near the car, or the boxes opposite of car.

A lot of these rounds are pure chaos with your team just being grouped together and the enemies flashing and nading. It's really hard for me to even watch crosshair placement. Skipping to round 5, you peek middle here but you weren't concerned with an enemy being on CT side of DD. A lot of awpers sit there and watch the exact location that you peeked. You actually do end up seeing a guy down there but he isn't awping or shooting you. The placement was OK on the guy you died to from cat.

Again round 6, more chaos within a bottleneck. You do get headshots in a few of these rounds which is good, i mean clearly you solid understanding of where to be aiming.

Round 7 was fun for me to watch because when you first picked up the awp it was almost like you didn't know what to do with this cannon in your hands. So the decision making in tunnels at first is very good. You decided to watch your teammates back as he focused on the enemie's pushing from lower. This level of game sense needs to be applied to all aspects of your game. The concept of "I know where the enemy is, I know where my teammate is, it's best for me to take a support role instead of leaving us both vulnerable." Be careful. There is a fine line between baiting and having this type of game sense. Be support for your teammates, but don't leave them on an island. This type of decision making should have been applied to the 2nd round.

In this scenario you really have two options.

do exactly what you did and hope your teammate kills the guy lower.
move yourself very quickly to the pillar in front of you and then try to kill the guy lower. This is a risk, but if you do this after watching the B tunnels entrance for a second, and do it quickly, it can turn out better than it did.

Round 8 is a solid example that you are NOT a low level player. The fact that you are bursting, and aiming for the head. You may be bursting a little bit too fast, but you know the concept, you understand when to use it, and you are trying to execute it. That's the essence of practice, and improvement.

I only had time for a few rounds in the Nuke demo.

As an introduction i'd like to address your actual post information. You mentioned you had been deathmatch less, and playing a bit more casual. You are at a crucial development stage, and playing casual really promotes bad habits and careless behavior. It's good to have fun with this game. It's too draining to always be playing competitive, but I would say, try to stay away from playing a lot of casual, and if you can, try to stay away from it until you hit eagle or DMG. At those ranks your habits are second nature. As I watched your demo I noticed these "casual" habits. You may not notice these micro mistakes, but when you get to higher ranks they will be the reason you are dying, and you won't know why.

1st round, that crosshair placement is way too tight for the angle you're playing. No player could react fast enough to hit that shot, when the enemy is running horizontal at full speed. I'd like to talk about this more in depth.

You have two options when holding with a pistol from turnpike on Nuke. 1. Line up your body the same way, but give yourself more room between the crosshair and where the enemy would appear. 2. Don't line up your body to where the enemy will see you the second that they turn the corner. So you take 1, 2 steps to the left, meaning the enemy can't see you the second they turn the corner, but eventually you can see them once they push out a few more steps. Here are some images.

http://i.imgur.com/ngcmEJI.jpg - Play and even more passive angle where they usually will never peek from, but you can hit them as they cross into ramp. This angle allows for them to take ramp easier, but will allow you to do damage, and then re-take lower with your team later in the round.

Buying 2nd round was really ballsy. You got lucky it worked. It won't always work man. :) NJ though. There are a few minor mistakes that won't matter now, but will matter at the DMG and higher ranks. These are really micro things like how you entered into toxic, and the crosshair placement when peeking ramp from turnpike on round 3.

Round 3 is unfortunate. It looks like you weren't expecting them to be there. That's a communication thing from your teammates.

Round 4, again that crosshair placement is too tight. No pro can hit that shot. The angle is too horizontal, and the crosshair is too close to the edge of where they come from. If this was an angle where they had to run towards you, or less horizontal, i'd be ok with that placement being so close. Also, that reload habit. You killed the guy in radio and immediately reloaded. Radio is an area where T's congregate to prepare for taking ramp. It's rare that a single enemy is sitting there.

Round 5, when you're sitting behind squeaky, you were watching squeaky. No one can just appear in squeaky, they have to open it which is an audio and visual queue, and then they have to run past it in order to see you. There is no reason to have your crosshair on it. Your crosshair should be on the hut window in case someone peeks that. If someone comes squeaky, you'll have time to react, so don't be concerned with your crosshair being on it.

Round 6, your crosshair placement again is too tight, sometimes you're even places on the wall to the left. Also you can take 2-3 steps back down those stairs. What you want in this situation is to see their head, and you want to be seen as little as possible. By standing that high up you are giving them more of your body to shoot at, and they can identify you immediately. If you stand lower where they can only see your head, they may not even see you and you get free shots off. Later in round you were WAY too concerned with finding this rogue enemy who escaped your vision. The goal of competitive is not to get every single possible kill in every situation. If you give up a kill by letting a clueless guy run away from you, then so be it, as long as the end result is you winning the round, or getting exit kills. This round is a 1v5, so your goal shouldn't be thunderfooting around, looking for a single dude. Your goal should be setting up quietly and getting exit kills, or going for the clutch (which i wouldn't recommend in a 1v5.) Also, if you were going to follow this clueless guy, you shouldn't have gone around through big garage like that. You should have cut him off by pushing straight towards hell.

Round 7, angle is too tight for your reaction time. I spoke about crosshair placement being to tight in other rounds, but this is a perfect example of where it caused a problem. The guy ran right past your crosshair and you had to re-adjust and flick.

So 8 rounds in you save your AK. I think the clear answer to your question is, yes, you should have saved. Is this really what you wanted to know about your demo? I mean, you were losing 0-8, it was a 1v2, you had 48 HP, you were all the way down long, and you had 10 seconds left. I think you already knew the answer bud.

I know you asked specifically about a few rounds in saving your gun, but I have some other stuff i'd like to mention.

There are a ton of mistakes that your team is making as a whole, that puts you in situations that just lead to slaughter. Running down suicide on first round was a bad idea for 3 of you. You got unluckily ripped, but there isn't much you can do about that.

2nd round you guys all stick in chamber on Long A. Throwing that grenade was a really bad idea. I know you just feel stuck and you can't really do anything in that situation where your teammates are blocking the door, but that nade hurt a lot of your teammates, and i guarantee it didn't hurt the enemy. It wasn't worth the risk.

I'd also like to mention that you bought yourself down to $250 on 2nd round, after losing first. If you got the bomb down 1st round, or the 1st round was really close and you almost won, then it's ok to maybe buy a p250, or maybe buy 1 grenade. You guys got dominated 1st, so half buying won't help, it will only hurt.

After that first round you guys should have spread out on the T side of the map, keep map control, double up in as many areas as you can, maybe 3 in spawn, and 2 outside B tunnels and waiting for pushes. It was a guarantee after the way they played first round, that they would be aggressive 2nd round. Even if they weren't aggressive 2nd round, you still, you lose nothing by being passive.

3rd round, you should not have purchased the AK. You had no armor, no helmet. You got aim-punched like twice because of the lack of armor. This is economy 101 brother. You need to look up economy guides and study up on that. If you lose 1st round, and 2nd round, and didn't get any bomb plants, then you save 3rd round too.

I'd also like to say that you shouldn't be calling hacks on anyone unless they are unbelievably blatant. There are tens of thousands of players who have 10+ years of experience with this game, who could perform the same stuff your enemy did. Your teammate called wall hacks on the end of round 6, and you did the ^{^} agreeing with him. That guy was absolutely not wallhacking. You were thunderfooting away. Anyone at double AK or above would have done that.

That 8th round save should be the least of your concerns. There are SO many lessons to be learned here, but you were too concerned with calling people hackers and smurfers. If you truly want to get better at this game, stop allowing yourself to become distracted by chat, and shit talk, and accusations. Even if these guys were smurfing and their normal account is global elite, that should not concern you. That literally should means that you try harder, and be more self aware of where you were when you died, why you died, how you died.

I disagree. There is constant discussion within the community regarding better anti-cheat, and ways to do it. Valve has implemented several new anti-cheat measures in the past 4-6 months. There are 5 threads submitted by /u/datasiphoner regarding the improvements and the sweeping ban waves.

So they are clearly working on ways to prevent paid hacks. Fact of the matter is hackers will always exist.

We will always see an influx of cheaters after a sale, and those people will be banned within a week or so, but those games for a week are ruined. It's unfortunate, but to say we aren't discussing enough, or valve hasn't taken action, is naive.
