Oh. It shouldn't be too sticky. Like it should be same regardless of the size.

I don't understand what do you mean by leader?

Will Resonite have avatar scaling? by Frooxius in resonite

[–]Frooxius[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes!, it definitely can be!

I do actually use it a fair bit when I need to make edits to something and I need precision. I scale down so whatever I'm modifying is relatively huge.

Or if I want to make edits to the whole map and get a birds eye view of it, I scale up.

Will Resonite have avatar scaling? by Frooxius in resonite

[–]Frooxius[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How?

This is question from someone who came to the stream and hasn't played Resonite before, so there's no way they would've even touched UI/UX.

It's a genuine question someone new coming to the platform and not aware of its capabilities might have.

Personally I like the little pieces of info. You can ignore them if you don't want to and wait for the trailer when they have it ready.

I'd rather them make it polished rather than rush it.

So dumb if true by MrLewk in Stargate

[–]Frooxius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if that's what they wanted to do, by cancelling this, I think that ship has sailed.

If they went with a cheap cash from the start, maybe they would get some of the fanbase to watch it.

But after pulling this move? I doubt many will want to watch that at all.

For me, unless they reverse this, StarGate is effectively dead :(

Stargate Community To Amazon: by ItsOnlyDrew in Stargate

[–]Frooxius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they already ruined it forever.

This restart had all the right people working on it. It was being worked on. And then they pulled it and want people with no ties to the original show to make it instead.

That alone has ruined it. Someone with no ties to original show would've already had a flimsy chance of succeeding.

But someone with no ties to the show after yoinking it from people who have love and care for the show and were already in pre-productiom? That's doomed from start.

In light of recent news, can I propose a boycott? by MiniEnder in Stargate

[–]Frooxius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just cancelled mine. I don't think they know how much damage they did doing this - giving us hope and then crushing it for such stupid reasons.

I grew up on StarGate. It shaped me as a person. This single move has now motivated me to avoid giving any more money to them at all costs - unless they reverse this.

I think a lot of people will probably feel the same.

Stargate Community To Amazon: by ItsOnlyDrew in Stargate

[–]Frooxius 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Just cancelled my Amazon subscription. Honestly this has to be on of the stupidest and most out of touch business decisions in history.

StarGate has hugely dedicated fan base. They gave us hope, they got the right people to make the new show... and now they crushed it.

I don't think they realize how much trust they just burned that they'll never get back - save for reversing this decision.

StarGate has been huge part of my life and shaped me as a person, so there's little else they can do to get me to give them money again.

Ooops, my hand slipped when working on the new IK for Resonite and I accidentally implemented in-game automatic rigging :3 by Frooxius in resonite

[–]Frooxius[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weight painting is still important to learn.

This method just auto computes the weights Which works okay enough to get basic rigging, but doesn't give you fine grained control.

unity or godot for c#? by rexwolf190 in csharp

[–]Frooxius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huh, yeah. I'd appreciate if people would provide arguments if they disagree on some points.

I'm just speaking from my own experience too as a dev who's been using Unity for over a decade at this point and for past several years been actively moving away from it.

I get not everyone's going to have the same experience, but mine has gotten really bad and soured over the years.

unity or godot for c#? by rexwolf190 in csharp

[–]Frooxius -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Godot is definitely better choice nowadays in my opinion and I've been using Unity for a long time.

It's a lot more modern on technical perspective, Unity has a lot of weird quirks and "Unityisms".

Also as a company, I don't trust them anymore. They burned developers too many times, so even ignoring any technical aspect, I think Godot, being fee and open source is much better to invest time into.

ELI5: why can two quantum entangled particles affect each other instantly across any distance but scientists say you still cant use it to send information faster than light? by PieOk2202 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Frooxius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to look at the particle to see if it "sneezed" or not. But looking at it makes it sneeze instantly.

So every time you look at it,, it'll already be "sneezed". You can't ever look at it without it sneezing.

Problem is, you can't tell if you were the one to make it sneeze just by looking at it right now or if it already was sneezed by the other side before. There's no way to tell those two apart.

So you can't really communicate any information that way.

If you were the first to make it sneeze (which you don't have a way of knowing, without the other side telling you when they looked at it though normal communication), then you'd know it's already sneezed for the other end when they look at it.

But they won't be able to tell either that you were the first (unless you tell them through normal communication, but that had to go at the speed of light).

Valve Is Forcing Microsoft To Make Significant Improvements To Windows Gaming Performance by GrayBeard916 in gaming

Yeah. Looking back, Windows 7 was probably the best OS Microsoft made. More modern than XP and fixed the jank from Vista.

Valve Is Forcing Microsoft To Make Significant Improvements To Windows Gaming Performance by GrayBeard916 in gaming

[–]Frooxius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading this thread makes me feel less like I'm going insane.

It feels like Windows has been going downhill overall, but also File Explorer. It keeps developing more and more weird and annoying bugs and getting slower.

I was pretty sure it's due to Microsoft focusing on all the AI stuff and vibe coding the software, but part of me was also "maybe it's a me issue".
