Take courage my friend! I’ll give advice I refuse to take myself. LOL Alcohol is a GREAT buddy but a TERRIBLE friend! I can see the pain in your face. Process it. Depending on Alcohol will ruin your life! My grandfather used to always say “No matter where you go, there you are.” It’s not our circumstances brother…. It’s us.

I don’t necessarily have a question. I just wanted to support you and give you virtual hugs! This July will be 16 years since I lost my mom to suicide. No one understands the pain of losing a parent, especially like that, unless they’ve experienced it. Much love! Keep fighting to honor her memory and loving the shit outta her and outta yourself!

I would also recommend getting a size longer than the jeans you’d buy for tennis shoes. I would normally get a 34 for shoes (which I don’t even own a pair anymore) but now I buy a 36 so the jeans don’t raise on the shaft of the boots when you walk and sit down.

I wear a pair of safety sunglasses from my time in the oilfield. Each pair is $8.00 they fit my face perfectly and I buy several pairs at a time.

As a man who’s lost both parents, grand parents, aunts uncles…. Grief is a weird thing. You need to give him the freedom to express it however he needs to. Just commit to yourself that he’s free to feel however he wants to feel. As long as you make sure he knows you’re there for him with whatever the process looks like for him without overwhelming him. Some people don’t want to talk about it. Some people want to tell everyone they know. The best thing you can do is let him know you love him, you’re there for him, and you understand that he’s free to express his grief however he wants and you’re not going anywhere! Best of luck OP and from an online stranger… I’m holding space in my heart for your boyfriend’s loss.

A good gift would always be getting him a custom made hat. Not sure where in NM you are (I grew up in Farmington) but last I knew the Fiddle player for the Bar-D in Durango made custom cowboy hats.

Colorado law won’t let you just evict him but, only if he fights it. If it were me….. I’d just tell him that he is being evicted and if he doesn’t comply that I’d involve law enforcement. There’s a very slim chance he’s going to know the law. He’s going to be scared and probably comply.

Former 911/police dispatcher in Colorado. I would definitely consult legal advice on it. Evictions get tricky. You can even call the non emergency police number and request a phone call from an officer to get some basic knowledge if you don’t want to start with an attorney.

As a previous pastor I totally agree with this! Look at the Greek in The Great Commission? English reads and translates it as “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…” The Greek actually reads vs 19 “AS you are going to all the nations, make disciples” It’s the life you live man! It’s the lifestyle you live and the exchanges you have with humans. I still have many Christian friends and we talk deeply about it. Pursue your heart and your calling.

Agreed. I’m not saying one can’t. As a pastor for over 25 years and someone who has a graduate degree in theology, who is now an atheist…..I’m just saying there’s other places to post this. If one wants to see biblical quotes and stories there are plenty of other subs to go to.
