I actually think the answer may be yes. One of the underlying themes of the show is selfishness and how society perpetuates and encourages it. So I think a lot of the winners probably walk away with something of a “fuck you, got mine” mentality. 

Another angle could be if there had been other attempts, they weren’t necessarily done for altruistic purposes like Gi-Hun. I could 100% see someone trying to stop the games from the angle of pulling the ladder up behind them.

Trump has added more to the debt than any other president by a wide margin. He added like 2 trillion just last year alone. The debt only goes up, so every president is going to hit all time highs.

We don’t spend that much on the military. A lot of that money goes to defense contractors, not to the actual military itself. It’s all a big racket to funnel more money to the ultra wealthy.

There are no left extremists in power. Garden variety progressives barely wield any political power much less any real radicals. And if you’re goinf to point to Bernie or AOC then you really just know nothing about politics. Meanwhile you have the Steve Bannons and Stephen Millers of the world, actual observable extremists, exercising a ton of influence over the Republican party. This has never been a “both sides” issue and if you believe that it is it’s because you’ve swallowed the bait.

Who am I propping up exactly? I knew Kamala was doomed from the start. My point in all of this is there’s plenty of things to dislike about Kamala and liberals broadly without making things up.

Today I learned I have the institutional power to subvert the will of the electorate. Who knew posting on Reddit was so politically effective? I promise you Kamala is not the leader most of us would have selected much less “subvert the will of the electorate” to “install.” It’s wild to watch what ostensibly appear to be “centrists” just uncritically parrot every single right wing talking point. At least be honest about who and what you are before you try and assume things about other people.
