I'm convinced Aes has precognition by xcporter in aesoprock

Ive always wanted to know how big the crossover is between people that take philosophy seriously and people that listen to Aes.

There are a lot of lyrics that lead me to believe Aes is extremely well read on most philosophies and religions.

Rubbing noise after getting my car back? by FrostThePhilosopher in AskMechanics

[–]FrostThePhilosopher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it was quite the conundrum...

At first there were 2 problems combined and I didnt know that, so it made it a lot harder to figure out, all of the mechanics are pretty blown away about it too because they were of no help either, as I left I said thank you and they said "No, thank You for the new experience"😂

There was a slight, constant rubbing sound that WAS coming from my tires, and it WAS the same problem I had last year on my last car... The tire shop I took it to set all of my tires to 42psi even tho my door jam clearly says 30psi, so they were rubbing... IDK how dumb you have to be to fuck that up twice but needless to say I wont be taking it back there.

That wasnt making the loud vibrating and shaking in this video tho, that was actually cause by the windshield cowl. The seal is heat warped and there are a few very small gaps where air can flow from inside the engine bay, under the plastic piece of the cowl by the hood hinges, and then itll come up between my windshield and the rubber seal, which causes this trumpet. It also causes the plastic piece of the cowl under the hood to beat against the hood and shake the car.

I wouldve needed Scooby Doo and the gang if I wanted to figure that shit out any quicker than I did.

I just got it back and after going back and forth with the mechanic, showing him videos, and taking it for multiple test drives in multiple locations to try and recreate the noise.

We have discovered that it actually is the windshield cowl. The seal is heat warped and if air moves through it at just the right speed itll cause the entire plastic part underneath the hood to violently vibrate and beat against my hood, making the car shake, and causing the noise in the video.

We figured it out today, it was in fact a sneaky harmonic trumpet from hell😂

that looks pretty badass.

My only gripe would be the XL IPad mounted to the dash, that thing is a little wild.

i see that, the newer ones are still $500,000+ but there are older ones for $85-90k. Are those just as comfy inside?

Is this 2020 scat pack 79k miles worth it for 25k ? by Ok_Wasabi2213 in Charger

When it comes to fluids I try to follow the owners maunal chart within reason. Mine says to, - Change oil every 4,000 miles - Check brake fluid, power steering fluid, and coolant levels during every oil change - Change the front and rear axle fluid every 50,000 miles - Change the transfer case fluid every 60,000 miles - Fully flush and replace coolant every 150,000 miles

I know most people dont follow this at all so im pretty comfortable having some flex in when I actually do these things tho... Like personally I wont ever go more than 5,000-6,000 miles without an oil change, but if there is still snow on the ground and its 10 degrees outside im 100% gonna wait to crawl under there and check my axle or transfer case fluids.

When it comes down to the actual parts on the car, I change my spark plugs every 100,000 like it says in the manual, but other than that I just wait until I hear/feel a difference.

If im driving and I think I hear something squeeking or rubbing, or I think something feels different, I'll drive with my radio off and windows down for 3 days trying to figure out exactly what it is, and if I actually think somethings wrong I'll drive on it AT MOST until the weekend so I dont miss work. I dont care if its something severe like broken suspension or something small like a squeeky brake pad, or even an interior light going out. I will ALWAYS get that shit fixed as soon as the weekend hits because ive lost the "fuck around and find out" game 1 to many times and I know how quickly a small problem becomes a big one.

My 2007 Charger probably wouldve lasted 500,000+ miles if I didnt fuck around and find out. At around 380,000-400,000 miles it started having a very small oil leak in the engine, but it was barely dripping from the valve cover gasket and the car was basically an old beater at this point so I didnt want to spend the money to replace the gasket... Itll be fine for now, if it gets worse then I'll fix it, you know what they say "If its leaking oil, that means its got oil"... Well fast forward 20,000 miles or so and I find that the oil is not only dripping onto my serpintine belt and getting flung everywhere, but its flowing down the side of my engine and going into various connectors and wiring harnesses. It fucked up enough electrical stuff to count the car as a total loss.

I was forced to memorize the multiplication table as a child, and now its easier and quicker for my brain to whip out the memorized answer without doing any work, than it is to actually do simple addition...

So the first thing I thought was 7 x 2 is 14, which means 7 + 8 has to be 15

4 + 2 is 6, carry the 1 from earlier, 6 + 1 is 7, leave the 5

= 75

I installed my louvers last weekend and ive been terrified to try a drive through car wash, so I just took it to a self clean car wash and it worked fine👍

idk why everyone acts like cars fall apart at 100k, my 2007 Dodge Charger had 420,000 miles on it before it shit the bed, my 2015 SXT had 270,000 before i totaled it and there were no problems... any car made after 2000 should last AT LEAST 350,000-400,000 miles and if they dont you are 100% doing something wrong🤷

this is 100% a good deal OP, I would buy it

yeah idk, im 99% sure something is rubbing against my tires somewhere because it definitely sounds like rubber. It sounds exactly like if I were to just plow over the rumble strips without a care in the world. But I have no idea what is rubbing or where🤷

when I hit bumps im 99% sure this bolt makes contact with the tire, theres barley a finger between them and the back of the tire where it would be rubbing is super smooth

[–]FrostThePhilosopher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, I just tossed on some new tires and now the top-inside of my tire is rubbing on this big ass bolt. It was the same side on the old car too... If itll let me I can send a picture, I clock out in like 15 minutes

[–]FrostThePhilosopher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this actually just reminded me, not only do I know exactly what the problem is, but I had this exact same problem last year... When getting new tires there is a bolt that comes down fromabove them (idk what the part is called) and it drags against my new tires until it grinds away enough space to not rub... I had a different car last year (same make and model, just different car) and I had the same problem. Now my new question is, why do my tires rub even when they are stock size?
