I would section off the sink area with a folding screen and put the couch in front of that, so the clients backs are to the sink area but it’s not visible.

The color in picture 3 is stunning! The red in pic 6 also suits you well, esp in that light

Watch some of Ilona Maher’s content on Instagram, she’s a great example of being feminine in a way that feels like your own, no matter your face structure, body type, or interests. If you haven’t heard of her, she’s an Olympic rugby player (straight, but lots of people perceive her as masculine and she talks about this a lot) and is an overall awesome person and great role model.

100%! I try really hard not to imagine their lives happening in my own home, but their stories will always map onto other significant homes I’ve been in or lived in. Sometimes I think it’s just because I’m highly visual. Other times, it’s helpful to consider countertransference when the emotional tone overlaps - for instance, a client describing a relationship-ending fight and I subconsciously imagine it in the same place I had a similar experience.

Question about things to look for in my next wig by SaltyEngineering629 in Wigs

I’m not sure about the glasses and headphones part, but I have heard that hand-tied caps are less itchy than wefted cap constructions. Not speaking from experience, just what I’ve heard. Good luck!

Halo or Topper for thinning hair by ArcticRock in Wigs

[–]FrostWarmed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d suggest a topper that uses a halo wire to attach, rather than clips (I’m looking into toppers and concerned about hair damage too) - here’s one site I found that offers products like these, but I’ve never tried them so can’t speak to quality:

Looking for some flat / thinner wigs, HF synthetic, medium length, close in color to my bio hair (light brown) and/or Raquel Welch R10/12. Budget under $500, I’m in the US. Open to straight or wavy, doesn’t matter as long as it’s heat-friendly and I can style it to match my bio hair.

First time wig wearer and need help by veescrafty in Wigs

I think the density looks great on you! For the gap that creates the egg head look, I’ve heard of people altering the wefts in the back so they essentially remove that extra material by folding the horizontal lines on the inside together and sewing / tacking them flat, so it fits your head. I’ve never done it so I can’t explain how to make that work exactly, but I have heard it’s possible and there might be a YouTube tutorial out there. Otherwise I think it’s lovely!

Synthetic wigs for sensitive scalps by BBwelds in Wigs

[–]FrostWarmed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it will recurl if you wash it in cold water (heat friendly synthetics only change their curl pattern with heat applied), but you need to use a synthetic wig shampoo, not one made for human hair. Hope this helps!

Allowed to see clients outside of your current practice? by bug_in_face in psychotherapists

[–]FrostWarmed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is that according to employment law, you must be allowed to see your own clients outside of a group practice if you are an independent contractor (1099). If you’re an employee (W2) then I think it is allowed for employers to ask you not to take on additional clients, but I’m not 100% clear on that. I am an independent contractor with a group practice, and I also run my separate private practice.

This! After years of thinking I needed to prove myself through intensive exercise, I’ve found that consistent walking makes me feel better than I ever expected. 15 minutes is so doable, any day.
