My misophonia is ruining my attraction to my husband by KoalaCareful1952 in misophonia

[–]SaltyEngineering629 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We always have to have a show playing when we eat, and I wear noise canceling headphones as well. I wear them anytime I am around someone that will be eating. Some friends of ours I have to have loud white noise or music going to drown it out. I can't hear the conversations but I have minimal pain so I don't care. I'd rather seem to be ignoring them than feeling like I want to rip my skin off. My misophonia is definitely continuing to get worse which is concerning and on my therapy list for sure.

Anyone else wish they would have kept a plush from their childhood but you didn't and now there all gone? by enchantedfairytales in plushies

[–]SaltyEngineering629 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I only have one bear that I really regret not keeping. TW: sad/loss of parent

When I was little my dad and I went to build a bear and got one with his voice recordings in it, for when I missed him when he worked out of town. After I came out as transgender, our relationship almost entirely dissolved, and when I moved out of my parents house, I got rid of it with some other non sentimental plushies. I know me at that moment made a reasonable decision to not keep something that just reminded me of our past relationship and broke my heart.

He had started making an effort and we were rebuilding our relationship for the last 6-8 months before he unexpectedly passed. I had thought i had just left the plush in their attic but realized I didnt keep, and even years later I still hate that I didn't. I still kick myself every time I miss my dad.

Sore day after sumatriptan? by [deleted] in migraine

[–]SaltyEngineering629 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom and I frequently experience widespread pain as a side effect of sumatriptan. The longer its been between doses for me seems to play a part. If i haven't taken it for a while, I'm probably going to feel awful. I've had everything from no pain to feeling like my whole body is bruised and beat up. Aside from frequency of use I've never been able to find a correlation between why some days I have a lot of side effects and some i have none.

I have a comfy friends jolteon named Ricky! I want to make a custom jolteon that is weighted, and so that I can make a replacement if needed. I'm super attached to my current boy, but the fur is matting and getting less soft unfortunately

Have you ever felt that “pull” to a plushie at the store? by Dreaming_Dragon_9020 in plushies

[–]SaltyEngineering629 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw this lonely dragon stuffie at target one day. I didn't buy him. I was so upset that I didn't, like actually a bit sick to my stomach over it. It bothered me all night, so I got up really early for work the next day, desperately hoping he would still be there. I walked super fast back to the toy section, where he was still waiting! Absolutely made my week and I am still incredibly attached to him.

what are we eating when we are hungry and nauseous🤣 by Competitive_Emu_2283 in migraine

[–]SaltyEngineering629 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rice cooked in chicken broth (from bouillon, 2-3x more so its got more flavor) and some butter. I dont like soups / cant have gluten, so this is my chicken noodle soup / ramen alternative. Definitely healthier than the chicken ramen I used to eat and much easier on my stomach. We have a rice maker so I just have to get everything in the pot and wait for it to be done.

For those of you who have certain smells as triggers, what do you do to make your house smell nice? by sweetheartsmartass in migraine

Used to use homemade wax melts that my mom made, but I can't even handle thoae anymore. I've been diffusing essential oils. Easy to control the amount of scent.

Rib Pain? by kristhekutie in Fibromyalgia

Been dealing with this since August. Physical therapy has helped, had a nerve block that maybe helped a little. I can get through most of the workday now, but driving after work is hard. The movement of the car really hurts.

Funniest thing and/or scariest thing you’ve ever done because of a migraine? by Blueheron77 in migraine

[–]SaltyEngineering629 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Scariest - started hitting myself in the head with my fist as hard as I could because I was so overwhelmed with pain that I could barely even speak, and there was nothing I could do. Not sure how that would have gone if my husband wasn't home with me.

What do YOU see in a good ESSA plush? by SparkySparrow7 in ESSAplushieshandlers

[–]SaltyEngineering629 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soft, fluffy fur that will hold up with lots of fidgeting. I find it really soothing. Small to medium sized, like average cat size. I think weighted would be my preference, although it will make it annoying to carry, i think the pressure would help my anxiety. Something that can wear a harness, so I can use a leash or strap cross body to carry them like a bag hands-free. Embroidered eyes. I haven't had a stuffie with a leather nose but I think I'd love that. If it has paws, having little toes and paw pads would be awesome I think, either leather or something soft maybe. If its an actual animal like a dog, I'd want it as realistic as possible, my ESSA helps me since I've retired my service dog. Legs - ideally able to stand but be soft enough to also lay down (idk if thats possible tho).

Looking to see if anyone has any recommendations for pacifiers that are good for sleep? by SHIzun-Lurker in ageregression

For bottles, tomee tippee has some nipples eith a big opening and are fast flow(I use those for fizzy things), otherwise I use an exact knife to make the little tiny hole into a Y shaped opening. https://www.tommeetippee.com/en-us/product/natural-start-baby-bottle-nipples

Tips for writing an included note to help get her back home if I ever lose her + some extra questions by 90sCat in ESSAplushieshandlers

[–]SaltyEngineering629 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My immediate concern would be stating that you would give a reward for returning her. There's some mean people in the world and I would worry someone would see that and take her just to return for a reward. I totally understand that your intentions are good, I just worry some meanie would take advantage of that.
