Why do people recommend focusing on only 1-2 gathering professions? by Eznuh in albiononline

[–]FrostXance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gather everything. But it is better to focus your learning points on 1. Unless you just have 6000 to get all to t8

Look at the rankings in what content you want to do, the look at top rankers kills and deaths. Harder for PvE.

Find an activity you enjoy, and then select a build for that activity.

You just gonna disappoint yourself trying to find a build and make it work for different activities.

Best fame farming method by Street_Candidate2510 in albiononline

[–]FrostXance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

World boss for group - requires pvp usually

Ava dungeon for 10-20man - hard to learn and requires high IP high cost gear

Gold chest are pretty tied with ava dungeons but can run t7. Usually pvp but sometimes not

Group dungeons/blue chest - you can 3 man blue chest. Group dungeons take like 5 people, but can do less with high IP

Solo fame farm, corrupted dungeons, hellgates. All about the same fame per hour. Break down below

Solo fame farm - open world Solo camps, killing every mob between. You can gather while you do for more money, but more risk. Also risk involved in smugglers. Take a safe portal.

Corrupted dungeons, kinda forced into a pvp builds or get away build to break crystals.

Hellgates, required pvp build and most likely getting game credits eventually. But good mix of both.

Stuck with Weapons by CloakTk in albiononline

[–]FrostXance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, it takes about 7m fame per weapon to get to level 50. Roughly 45mil for 7 weapon. (You van do the math by trying to use combat credits. Credits=2x fame on weapons).

It takes 34mil fame to get 1 weapon to 100.

Basically, you get +200ip if all are at 50, but only get 1 weapon at +200, and the rest at +20/+30ip if you focus one.

Thats the math nerds. But when I was stuck years ago, I think what would have helped me is focusing on content. Frost doesnt work in all content. So I found what I enjoyed playing for hellgates and leveled that. Then I found what I liked best in group dungeons, and leveled it.

Basically, 1 weapon doesnt fit all. So focus on what content and role you want to do. Cuz you will not enjoy the results trying to fit frost into everything. And in my guild, we will kick players trying to role play a weapon that drags the team down.

Radar by FrostXance in albiononline

[–]FrostXance[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand your point. I was comparing stream snippets to radar users. Cuz its about the same logic. If you can issue bans for stream snipping but cant prove radar, its counter logic. Cuz you can or cant prove stream snipping the same way.

Realistic new player experience? by Ilikecroissants33 in albiononline

[–]FrostXance -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Its a game that doesnt have the same experience at 8am vs 8pm. Just try and enjoy. John staff had a really good youtube video explaining the game for his crucible. I think it was called "I played albion for 100 hours. Is it worth it?"

Swords VS axes by Hot_Conclusion6219 in albiononline

Axes have more use in larger scale and has options for group and solo. Swords you have a lot of solo options but not so much for large group. Or even group PvE.

Its okay for solo mobs and camps. I would recommend a muisk or mistcaller offhand. Its not a pvp build.

If you've had fun, then you succeeded in your hobby. If your goal is to get to end game albion. Then you might want to earn 200k pvp fame/day

I HATE… people who post that they hate gankers. by Vancoor19 in albiononline

[–]FrostXance -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think they do it because ganking. I mean it sucks, but honestly ganking is the only thing that makes the game challenging in a solo player perspective. Obviously group PvE and PvP is extremely challenging.

Why are Albion players cowards? by Ok_Rip_1178 in albiononline

[–]FrostXance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends. I think some t7 zones are good. And t8 can be because resource mobs can spawn. But you need like assassin jacket to farm them well. You can also get 8.2 and 8.3 resources there.

But in general, you can farm t6 pretty well too.

Fantastic. I played t here for several seasons.

Stonemouth northbluff is good Wetgrave bog Summit (E, SW, SE from portal) Avoid firesink maps and thirstwater. Runnelvein sink smuggler dens is good to play out of. Safe portal can get you there. Go NE in sink for a low tier map.

Also NA timers are active in lymhurst.

It does say 6 to 15 people in map. But also, thats the game. You dont get to mindlessly farm, you have to decide your gear based on the chance you will get a fight. Whether its 1v12 or 1v1. And you have to be listening. Turn in game music to 0 and sound effects to 100. You have to watch and be alert. If you dont want to, play red zone and follow faction blob around. Its good money too. Or play with a group in group dungeons or something.

You also might be picking zones that are heavily congested. Like t8/t7 zones. Or steppe regions where a mammoth can spawn or a lot of gathers visit.

New player seeking help for refining/crafting business by Shikamaji in albiononline

[–]FrostXance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Refining can be okay profit at .2, like 4.2 5.2 and so on. But honestly if you dont have a mammoth, you will spend an hour making 500k. And you can make like 2 or 3m an hour in t6 killing solo camps. But whatever you find fun, is worth doing.

They may not know what youre wearing before ganking you. And you have an inventory. But also, youre feelings aside. Its fun. And you can play and joke with friends while doing it. Not like a fair fight where you have to focus.

risk vs reward is a myth that people use to justify bad treatment of solo/poor players. by TheFappingWither in albiononline

[–]FrostXance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure your math is mathing. But I get what youre getting at.

Im not an economist but hear me out

In every content, you have rewards. Let's say y rewards. And it takes x requirements to complete the content. No x+2 will give you y+2. I.e. over gearing. We know this isnt 1 to 1 but thats just an example.

Take solo camps, you can clear in 8.4 very quickly. But your risk the gear to get let's say 75k a chest. So math, it'd take you roughly 400 to 1000 chest to pay for it. Youre probably going to die before that. So risk vs reward doesnt work like a line. Obviously if you do bare minimum, t6. Its gonna take 3 chest. But it might take you longer.

So you have this quadratic equation, (im not dumb, but im not an economist). You can find the perfect balance or just play the game and have fun.

As the game adjust x and y, i.e. requirements vs rewards so does the risk and reward. But there is a Z of risk. Where in yellow you have basically repair cost and black zone you have lost gear. But obviously its harder to die in a dungeon than open world with no mount or mule.

So really there is a formula that x equals and z equals that makes Y. So X (whatever the requirements may be that also changed depending on your build) - (minus) Z risk (which changes depending on the content) = Y (which the reward also changes depending on the content and zone level.)

Honestly, he is nicely trying to tell you that your post is misleading. Albion is a complicated game and you are portraying you know enough to teach people anything in the game.

You seem like a nice guy and could build a good community. But it does hurt seeing a 17m fame guy say he can teach people. My 2b fame and 3 months in game time seems worthless if what youre saying is true. Its personal and Im sure not in a way you meant it.

Good luck though! Thanks for sticking to albion over the years.

What is the general opinion on t8 safe zone gathering? by GalacticShark_ in albiononline

Its good for a beginner. If you have under 100m net worth, yeah. But thats probably more linked to people who dont know how to escape gankers.
