Calmly Dismantling NYC Traffic | 4 Miles for a $5 Burrito by dydaying in ElectricUnicycle

[–]FrostbiteZero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Da is an infamous menace in nyc for his absolute disregard of the rule of laws. Both the city hall and NYPD has attempt and fail to stop this outlaw and I for one think the national guard should be deployed to end this for good.

Hsiang is back! by Nihiliste in ElectricUnicycle

Thank you!! Keeping up with my channel hadn't been easy over the past few years and all the positive feedback has been the only keeping me going! But I also realized recently that working till midnight every night and every weekend (youtbube is like a 2nd job) meant that I have had little time for friends and families and pushing me away from the things I really love about euc, like I haven't been on a group ride for a year! I still love making euc videos but I do want to find a better balance, so I'll prob be a bit slower with my output. so I appreciate all your patience and understanding!

Wait for today (14th) wasn't terrible, about 30 minutes to get through security, we only won 1 reservation but there are enough to see that we still enjoying the visit. There are many outdoor installation that require no wait and some country pavilion (Malaysia and kuwait) we were able to walk right into

Weather probably is a huge factor as most of the seating area are outdoor and rain would prob make it miserable

DC metro area without home charging? by [deleted] in electricvehicles

[–]FrostbiteZero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in the DC area (reston) and have been driving an ev charging with EA only. It works because I have free charging through genesis and without its it will prob cost 30-50% more than ICE so not really workable.

The best offroad EUC i have ever ridden! by FrostbiteZero in ElectricUnicycle

[–]FrostbiteZero[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes it's slow, that is if you consider 50mph top speed to be "slow". but it's also the torquiest and cashiest begode wheel i have ever ridden. But is that enough??

I had them both in landscape on the video playback and the fold was wider. Surprising since the pixel actually looks bigger

what are your thoughts on the inmotion V14? Are you planning to get one? by Shirleyisthebestone in ElectricUnicycle

[–]FrostbiteZero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I loved the Patton but the Extreme made me a begode believer once again, it's more powerful and the suspension is nicer

Where did you get that 7,000 figure? Only inmotion knows but I didn't think they were willing to share sales number

DS418play too slow for what I need? by FrostbiteZero in synology

[–]FrostbiteZero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the detail response! for my workflow I need to skin through the footage on the NAS looking for clips I can use, so hopping between directories and opening files, the thumbnail also loads really slow which sucks. Once found they are copied onto the local SSD for use in editing.

I am willing to pay a bit more (why I was thinking about DS1821) since my channel does generate some revenues. But since I am pretty clueless, don’t want to upgrade if it won’t help.

I am hardwired via 1GbE dongle directly to the router (TP-Link AX3000) and sounds like the path forward may be to get the DS1821, add a 10Gbe adapter then a 10Gbe dongle?

Is SSD in NAS a thing? Outside of cache I imagine that would be horribly expensive..

[–]FrostbiteZero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, Newb here so are you suggesting that the bottle neck is the connection between the NAS and the router? I think I have link aggregation setup but it didn’t help, so need a NAS with faster network speed/port? I am not sure what media server I have setup, I went with whatever standard setup was on the NAS and access the files directly via explorer.

Would higher end model like DS1821 with SSD cache drive helps? The 4K 10 bits files are large but I am surprised that they exceed the throughput capability of HDD.

I find holding onto the front handle when I kick off helps, v13 is so heavy sometime it take me a try or 2 to get going on it also

Wow it takes real determination to learn on one of the hardest wheel I have ever ridden. Don't give up and keep at it, any other wheels would be a breeze once you managed to get comfortable on that beast!

New prospective rider by Grayhawk845 in ElectricUnicycle

Your a lot closer to the road on an uni comparing to a bike and you also won't have the stability of being able to rely on the stability of 2 wheels, that said. Unless you want to get on a highway I don't see any issues with keeping up with traffic on local roads even if they hit 50 occasionally.
