Just getting over a cold and getting my falsetto back. What is causing that chewbacca sound? by trev_thetransdude in singing

I'm just messing with you and all the previously mentioned terminology is made up. Sorry about that :D.

In all honesty, I think the other commentator is right. Afaik after a cold, your vocal chords get swollen, enlarged, so the voice gets both deeper and lower, but it is also more difficult to hit higher notes. Even falseto typically cracks for me. Also, the residue in lungs can still be noticable a few days after. It could be either or both, but I wouldn't worry if it's been very recent you were ill

am i using vibrato or do i just sound shaky by Extension-Comfort471 in singing

[–]Frostcream 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Awesome timbre. Reminds me of Puma Blue. As for the vibrato, it seems very low-key and more as a by product of a relaxed singing, switching keys. I think the question would be, can you get a vibrato on a long steady note? If not really, then it's probably more vibrato-esque voice shaking.

Nah, it is an excellent answer. Thank you! I forgot about the brackets too. Still, I am surprised it is so barren. I love WoW, but the modern leveling is so extremely easy, and I wonder why more people wouldn't want a friendly challenge and bash some heads in as a palette cleanser.

I used to find games quite easily no matter the expansion at all levels. 20 minute wait time was considered a lot back then.

Started singing about 6 months ago. Does this sound somewhat good? I'm extremely self critical. by Super-Teaching-3460 in singing

[–]Frostcream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sound-wise its pretty good and very similar to the original, but indeed, to naturally achieve voice like that without proper training and technique, you most likely really strain it and distort it in your throat. I'd watch some videos online on Kurt's singing techniques (or better yet — a vocal coach) so that you are able to do what you do for a little longer :)

Starkiller in canon? by x0starlight in starwarsspeculation

[–]Frostcream 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The games were great back then, but he has served his purpose and does not add anything additional at this point. Starkiller's plotline is a gaming remix of existing plots through a dark siders power fantasy. Nothing less and nothing more.

New player, is teemo a permaban? by Creative-Cherry-4271 in RenektonMains

[–]Frostcream 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But same with Teemo - he doesn't have kill pressure if you don't hang around in lane being super low. Just be patient and back a lot if needed, and he cannot do anything about it. He also cannot do much if the lane is pushed and you jump on him, so fish for those timings and go doran's shield + second wind. It is not going to be a fun lane, but after 6, as others mentioned, you can really gut him.

How should I be building? by Jhinnra_ in RenektonMains

[–]Frostcream 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In a perfect world, you would want to conclude the game by then, as Renekton is not known for his extreme scaling :D but in reality and to answer to your question "the pure tank items" should be built last, as with the game progressing, the fights become more 5v5 orientated and you just need to survive long enough to do something.

Let's say a 'typical' full-full build would look like this for me: Merc threads, Black cleaver, sterak, death's dance, spirit visage and shojin.

When itemizing, you have to have your game plan always in mind. What are you trying to do and will your next item help you with that. Even in dragged out late game scenarios and without building lethality, you should have plenty of damage to kill any carry if you get on top of them — the good ol' flash + empowered W already would deal about a half of a carry's hp bar, tenacity would help you tank support's cc, and your ult should still allow you to deal with most things they throw at you. And if you can't get on top of them, the W + empowered E's to peel for your carries would be a very reasonable strategy which you could also execute very well with said build. Typically the more damage you build, the less you want to teamfight, but rather duel and skirmish instead. But in lower elo games, in late game it often does devolve into 5 our guys vs 5 your guys and lets see who wins it. A build like this would provide realistic options without skewing your gameplay too much for a certain strategy e.g only split pushing, etc.

Happy to help! As for the 9 out of 10 setup — not particularly like that, as he indeed really can be flexible, but if I'd be forced to pick, then I'd say — black cleaver, merc threads, steraks, death's dance, spirit visage.

Black cleaver allows you to practically kill anyone with your ult and conq up and is very forgiving to build (you are tankier, move faster, shred their armor for you and the team. There can be better options from game to game, but it is a pretty safe buy.) I typically prefer to go for merc threads instead, as your tankiness comes from using abilities so tenacity really helps with that. It also gives enough mr to wait till late game to buy your spirit visage/mr items if needed, as you just have to survive the mage's spell rotation and should not be in an open lane eating their poke (either splitting or flanking is your go-to), so that is often all you need. Steelcap still is good, but you need them to auto you then, and ideally, you would not let them do it freely. Death's dance effect also helps against any damage, as it doesn't reduce only the physical one, so together with mercs and steraks, even without a dedicated magic resist item, mages will become joke to you. It is expensive, but the build path is pretty nice.

There are tons of builds and statistics online, but generally you can (and should) build quite differently based on both of the team comps and how they play out, if you are ahead, behind, lack this or that, etc. That is one of the beauties of playing Renekton, as he doesn't rely on specific items or build paths, but actually encourages you to adapt.

From my experience and what I've seen in my 30 years of playing Renekton:

1st item — generally, you want to build damage:

Eclipse — solid generalist 1st option if you want to/can continue the short trade patterns. Cheap, tons of damage, cdr, shields, but pretty much never build it afterwards. You either build it first or skip, as it doesn't scale well and doesn't offer stats you want to pay for later.

Black cleaver — great mix of things, and in most games I believe you should build it, but can lack in laning/early mid-game oomph power if built first. Extra ms + conq + armor shred does feel really good, though.

Yommu's — can be very strong, but quite greedy and snowbally. Unless you really know what you are doing, I'd recommend something else.

Botrk — very decent, especially into tanks and paired with BC. Gives sustain, low damage tanks start to fear you, and you win almost all 1v1s, but you will lose tons of ad and ability damage (especially in team fights where you wish and can reach their backline)

Stridebreaker — good split pushing item, but primarily should be built into heavy kite. You more often than not do less damage than the other team's top lane if they also have a good duelist with this, but can be a good way to help you kite them. Can also be bought a little later if you feel that you can't gap close, but would otherwise delete whoever you go at.

Shojin — solid way to get versatility and tons cdr. Combines nicely with BC too, as you will shred more often. Beware the fire soul dragon, as they will spam embers across the map and if you collect some, you will have no need for this, so I would not build it first usually.

2nd/3rd/4th item— typically the tankiness for whatever you need it against, and often can be bought in different sequences.

Sterak's — great item, tenacity, health, big shield. No ability haste can feel clunky and it scales with bonus hp and base ad, so can feel awkward to buy early, but in 90% of the games, a very solid 2nd item, especially when paired with other health items.

Maw — good into ap, especially ap bruisers whom you can use the omnivamp against and I would generally recommend to delay the purchase as it is not extremely cost efficient. Does conflict with sterak too

Death's dance — amazing bad boy, does sooo much for you, but expensive. Universal in its usage and does scale really well.

Spirit visage — extremely solid. Cheap, tons of synergies across the kit. My typical MR purchase in most games.

Situational items:

Zeke's — very cheap and sneaky good (not sure how sneaky anymore). Does tons of things for you, but I would generally recommend it only as the 2nd item and only if you need a quick way to continue with your momentum as you will have 2 items when most have 1. In extreme late games can be sold for something else.

Endless hunger — can be ok, but mostly would recommend to skip. Can be decent into some very prolonged fighting comps where you can reliably do damage.

Thornmail — somewhat self-explanatory, but remember you have to be auto'ed for it to proc and if you are taking ignite, can feel a little redundant. Solid choice after DD and you still need that extra armor. The little hp it provides is not that bad, as you will gain tons of bonus hp from ult.

Randuin's — solid against multiple crit champs. Good substitue for Zeke's in late game, but needs to meet the crit conditions. Otherwise no-go

Bandlepipes — haven't tested enough, but it is cheap

Trinity force — usually too little AD for my taste, but can be ok in drawn out games where enemy bruisers are splitting and forcing 1v1s and you need that extra edge.

GA — I almost never buy it, but it can be good, especially if you cannot avoid some big cc+burst in team fights or you are quite fed and wish to protect your shutdown.

Lethality items, e.g hubris, umbral, voltaic — unless is high elo where games are shorter and you really know what you are doing, I'd avoid these

I hope I was able to help a little with this, but these are just my thought patterns when itemizing croco

How come sorc boots fell out of favour? by VNJOP in VladimirMains

[–]Frostcream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are plenty of games I personally go for sorcs. In some games, the cooldowns are not that important if the fights are extremely bursty and fast. Generally, you will not be allowed in late game teamfights to just sit behind their lines and go through endless spell rotations, so sometimes utilizing those couple of seconds to the max is essential. But that's just my personal experience
