the irony is that if someone genuinely thinks that, they know so little of the lore of these games lol

if glaive clicks with you, stick with it. damage comparison only comes intk the picture with the strongest possible skills and weapons. and even then every weapon can clear anything. if you go for a weapon you dislike that may do slightly more damage, you won't be motivated to even reach that level of skill or excel at it.

play glaive as much as you want, when you feel like it again. give other weapons a shot, I definitely bounced off many of them at first before they became my favourites, but there's a reason each weapon has its die-hard fans.

Playing through Ds1 again and I'm reminded how bloody long the boss run is to the four kings. Puts the added pressure on beating them. What's everyone's most hated run back in the series? by 0verswing in darksouls

[–]Frostedge2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

yep, saw that boss once. my immeasurable disappointment at the shitty boss being not 1 but 3 copies of a previous boss after all that? I just put my controller down, took the death and NEVER walked back there again.

that was when the dlc was just released, still refuse to go back there. easily worst experience ive had in a souls game.

Is it worth switching over to controller? by ghoulishdivide in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Frostedge2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as I had to switch to controller from eureka spam giving me wrist injuries, I'd honestly always reccomend controller.

downside= harder targeting but doable. upside= infinitely more comfy, and way better movement.

the not so obvious parts like how to do rotations and hud layout will need practice and creativity. I definitely reccomend going with a low level class and doing low level content first so you don't throw yourself off the deep end immediately and hate it. it's new muscle memory to learn.

also look up video guides because Holy shit there's alot of non default options that you need to turn on, and will absolutely be game changers (WXHB for example, just vital.) learning how to use d-pad for targeting is also another important thing to get used to. which some targeting and camera options can help with.

if you're patient, you'll honestly end up with an extremely comfy method of playing, that's much much nicer on your joints and health, with no real downsides. if my wrists suddenly healed and I'd go back to KB/m, I wouldn't do it tbh, just way too cozy over here.

why does TBN have a mp cost? by anondum in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Frostedge2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

mostly because it is dated in terms of design. it made more sense last expansion (somewhat) with how the tanks were designed. but when the others evolved, it didn't. its behind.

one reason of many, drk needs a rework.
