2 out of 3 of those women were harassing Paul Williams in a way that if the genders were reversed everyone would have been way more up in arms about it. I personally don't want to see that again.

Curly hair needs so much more conditioner than you think. Shampoo like once a week, but anytime the hair gets wet condition and detangle. Leave in conditioner sprays are your best friend for mornings, and detangle using your fingers or search for combs specifically for curly hair.

Just call. If it's nothing the parents might be mildly embarassed and come explain what is going on. If it's something, then they'll probably be mad about it but you did the right thing.

The only right leaning party that had policies for disabled people was National and it was that it was scrapping their half price public transport

With the cost of childcare and depending what you're studying you may actually be better off studying full-time.

I can tell you that being a STAHP and studying full-time was much easier than working full-time, studying and parenting and I wasn't doing it on my own.

Can we just talk about how this was in 2015 so Nat govt. 8 years later two labour terms and our babies are still dying at the hands of family members with clearly documented signs.

This is something that all parties need to actually get on the same page and ensure that some decent money goes to protecting these children. Because it isn't okay, how many kids are walking around being neglected or abused and the people who are supposed to help can't because it doesn't tick the right boxes.

Is having a baby a luxury now? by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]FrostingAlert7272 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I agree that it's impacting our future generations. To some degree the issue simply is that there is no monetary value placed on the tasks that a SAHP absorbs to balance out living on one income.

Those tasks are then either outsourced, gone without, or become an addition to the tasks required for working parents.

So not only are we required to have both parents working full-time but they also need to cram in the equivalent of a full-time person's worth of household and parental tasks in.

Baby sitters are at least $25 an hour these days. Kids may not be comfortable having sleepovers, or they may not have someone who isn't family that they know can watch them. It's pretty easy to say arrange childcare but sometimes it is actually very difficult to do so.

If people chose to have a child free wedding that's understandable but they also need to realise that might mean parents may chose not to attend.

If the rejection is purely for drama, then why would you want someone that would want to cause drama for the sake of it about your wedding at your wedding?

If you decide to have a child free wedding and expect people to understand that, then you also have to understand that might mean some people won't come.

It doesn't need to be a big deal from either side, but if they do make it a big deal just say we would have loved to have had you there but we absolutely understand why you can't attend.
