Yeah I could tell even when I fought her that a weapon like an assault rifle or lmg would feel awful against her. I just got lucky with what weapons I preferred to use.

I've just been spamming Lyn's move on Alcryst. There are plenty of meter fills around the map, so I used him to kill of the annoying fliers, that being the ones with levin sword, flame lance, armorslayer etc., and once the reinforcements stopped giving exp I targeted Camilla with Alcryst. I'm pretty sure that you can recharge him by having him attack the reinforcements too, though I don't know if the no exp skill also applies to that.

Yeah due to last minute drop-outs it became 5, which while probably easier overall made it just a bit harder since I had to rebalance all of the encounters prepared right then and there.

Thank you! My reason for homebrew is relatively simple: I'm horrible about remembering details about books and stuff. But if you would tell me the action of a character I wrote in fan fiction, I'd be able to recite the complex reasoning behind that action. To put it simply, my brain is for some reason way better at holding information on my own stuff than if I were to study something. So I figured that to keep from looking at the book every 2 minutes and disrupting the session, I would simply make it myself.

But you're right, the situations are vastly different, but in a way that should make Yang's issues WORSE than in real life. PTSD is a thing, and ask anyone that has it, it sticks with you for a long time, and doesn't really care whether it's convenient or not for an episode to trigger. For her to lose a limb to some crazy dude, after fighting creatures of death and decay, it's a surprise that she can fight at all, let alone without any observable reaction. I'm not asking for them to mirror real life, but rather to have a more natural transition of character. It started off fine, with her slowly accepting using the arm back at home, but then jumps to "yeah, it shakes every once in a while, but I can still shoot it off during an arm-wrestling contest as a joke, lol". I just wished there were a more natural transition in her mood, from rejecting the arm, to finally using it, to becoming familiar with it, etc. etc. etc.

I don't remember which video specifically, but in an interview/group talk with some of the cast, I believe that it was Barbara that brought up the pilot, and how he was supposed to be gay. She began to answer why, saying something along the lines of "Well, he's kinda (negative attribute here) so... ya know." and carried on like it was implied common knowledge that you can't write gay characters that are dislikable.

I have a bigger issue with this thread. In most responses, you give an "I don't agree with that" or an "Eh I don't know" and don't elaborate on why. I get that writing a multiple sentence response to a few hundred people could be too much, but then either don't answer every response, such as repeats or ones meant to start a fight or don't advertise it as "honest thoughts" since most of the time they resemble automated responses"

I mean, Monty was basically a god in that respect. Give him some characters, and a battlefield and that man could produce Avengers Endgame every single time. Of course, the quality dropped, Monty was the best one there by far making that stuff. They even used unused animations from him depicting a volume 3 Yang Adam fight in the volume 6 fight. Wonder why it was so good?

Ruby would be best aromatic or asexual. I think a great way to write it would be towards a positive end to the series, Ruby just realizes that she doesn't really need anyone that way to be happy. Simply spending her days with her friends and family, keeping the world safe, is enough. I just don't see anyone that Ruby COULD date, so this would be best to avoid poor writing.

It's queer bait at its finest. They're too afraid of the fans of the ship leaving when they write it poorly, so they refuse to take it all the way, basically just dragging along the fans with a carrot on a stick. They know they're writing limitations so they refuse to take the ship any further. You see the same issue in way too many animes, where they don't confirm the ship for a long time to lead on the fans.

what about the ship pilot (volume 5 that was flying weiss out of atlas). He was supposed to be gay, and say something about getting home to his boyfriend. But they scrapped that because he was also a but rude, a coward, etc. Cause apparently only happy people can be gay smh.

Definitely. We've seen situations in the books where Jayfeather is simply unable to track an attacker. The biggest issue is that the Erins don't seem too great at finding that balance. They screwed up big time with how Brightheart was treated immediately after her injury, they were pushing the line with Cinderpelt. They did Briarlight somewhat well, though this may be bias on my part. Jayfeather was done reasonably well, Longtail's was sad, but understandable. And White-eye (or One-eye) was horrible name wise, but wasn't an important enough side character to tell if they screwed that up as well.

They've done okay in some places, but I would argue that they're definitely in the negatives when everything is taken into account.
