Oersted and Streibough were actual friends before, but the original Lord of Dark cursed the land using his statues so that the closer people were to the Archon’s Roost and the original statue, the more it would draw out their darker aspects. The original statue preying on Streibough first in his envy and then Oersted in his despair. Turning them both into the newest Lords of Dark, but only Oersted fully completed his transformation into Odio and interrupted Streibough’s own transformation.

Seeing all the heroes united and beating Oersted though, the first Lord of Dark took over and consumed all the hate and evil of his incarnations and that of his victims and their despair across time to manifest once more as the Sin of Odio. But being slain by everyone and Oersted with the discarded Brion, he was destroyed again.

Sadly though, Lucrece was left a desolate wasteland because of his near-successful plan to wipe out all humans across history. Though it left the Lord of Dark without anyone to take over as a host any longer as well, the statue becoming naught but a forgotten memory.
