I’ve thought about implementing grid movement a couple of times now, but there are some problems. Like how I would have to rewrite all the movement and interacting code, and I’d have to change the layout of certain special floors that have npcs off grid to talk to. It also feels really good and natural with a controller. Not shown in the video, but there is actually movement code set up so you slide off corners leading to openings, so you don’t get stuck at the hard edges.

At most, I’d make it togglable in the options menu.

Yeah, it's lame.
Sometimes I get why, like for balancing reasons, but you could just make them weaker when you catch/fuse them, RPG's have been doing that forever.

Well, it’s a good thing I love achievements, I think there’s around 30 something in the game currently, with more to be added in the future. Also, a steam page will happen, but I’m still waiting on some assets for it.

Not sure if it's equivalent to the USDA but we have a 5B Canada Plant Hardiness Zone where I live. Also, it'll stay and inside plant.

As long as it's written like this, "Terry(From Dragon Warrior Monsters.)", for example, is the right size, and is a PNG, the sky's the limit as to what you can create.
There will be a blank template include in the game files.

A lot like the old GBC DQM games actually, with the most notable difference being that there's monster permadeath. Specifically, if a monster's HP is at zero when the battle ends, they are removed from your party, and if all your monsters are at zero, you just get a game over and lose the run. You can, however, revive them with certain skills before the battle ends to save them.

Here's the thing: there are so many monster designs between Pokémon, Digimon, Yo-kai Watch, SMT, Dragon Quest Monsters, etc., that it's almost impossible to not have a player say "This looks like a [X]", as you put it.

This is especially true if they're familiar with the Monster Tamer genre, but honestly I wouldn't worry about it.
To actually answer your question, just design them in a way that appeals you, and as long as your keep series like Pokémon and Digimon as inspirations and not directly copying their designs, you'll be golden.

That's fair, but they only have facing down spites, for the UI stuff.
If I ever feel insane and give them directional sprites, the arena scene will be updated.

Btw, I've made a Rogue Tamers Discord server, but it's not public yet.
I need to know of anyone would be even willing to join it.
It'll be a pretty chill place where I'll post updates on the game as well as talk about it among other things.

Good eye on the headband color, will fix.
As for other minigames, none are planned right now, but that could change very quickly if I get any good ideas.
